Beautiful Photo Remakes of Famous Art
Photo remakes are a unique form of artwork that is receiving a growing recognition lately. It draws inspiration from a known piece (mostly paintings, but also sculpture and photography), and sets out to reconstruct that piece as a photo. The purpose is not so much to create an identical copy of the original, but to recreate its mood, and sometimes to add a layer of personal interpretation.
Although photo remakes are based on works that already exist, it would be very wrong to doubt their status as artworks in their own right. Creating a powerful remake requires not only a great deal of technical precision, but also a clear artistic vision and talent, as you’ll see in this stunning showcase.

February 2, 2012That “Pot Pourri” is remarkable – almost like the artist has used the photograph for inspiration to make the painting rather than the other way around. Where on earth did they get the exact same vase as in the painting???
