John William Templeton is contributor of African-Americans in the West to the Oxford Encyclopedia of African-American History and editor of the four-volume anthology Our Roots Run Deep: the Black Experience in California.
His book Come to the Water: Sharing the Rich Black Experience in San Francisco is the first title to include all of the historic and current attractions for visitors to the world's most popular city who are seeking to discern its African-American heritage.
Templeton has given tours for major conferences like the American Bar Association, American Library Association, National School Boards Association and American Educational Research Association.
