"BJ" Caldwell, the youngest circumnavigator to complete the task solo.
Mostly he just offers an interesting perspective on really living the
life you want to live NOW, not someday off in the distant future once
you've all grown up and settled down. He's very articulate and also
very well sponsored and covered in the media.

EVEN THE BIGGEST PROJECTS START WITH A DREAM...
From the rough sketch of a rocket to the first step on the Moon, from a small mouse to a Theme Park, from a sailor's dream to The Race, what we're really talking about is men and women who live their passion for life to the limit.
At first we take them for madmen, and later, for visionaries. And thanks to their energy, their ability to work in a team, and their determination, their imagination becomes reality. There is a little bit of Jules Verne or Walt Disney in every one of us - and we'll never stop dreaming!

The Distance to Here
One man & boat versus the world X 2...
In 1996, when I finished my first solo circumnavigation to Hawaii at age-20, setting the record as the youngest solo circumnavigator, I didn't want to stop. And had I known then how difficult it would be to escape the trappings of land again, I would have kept going for a second 'lap' - right then and there.
Today however, that past has transformed into my vision to circumnavigate again while contesting the Class Mini circuit in France. This will be perfect training for the Vendee Globe nonstop solo around the world race.
The Beginning
In the beginng, the dream wasn't mine but a manifestation of my gypsy minded parents.
It was in 1985 at the Waikiki Yacht Club in Honolulu, Hawaii, when my mom confronted my dad with an ultimatum - "Honey, you look awefully stressed...lets sell everything and go now before you have a heart-attack on the job and I go anyway. Besides, I want to go while I can wear a bikini in Tahiti."
In the blink of an eye, all material things had been sold, save for our yacht - "Foxy Lady".
We went on to cruise the South Pacific for six-years before our return for high school ashore when I began my personal mutiny by circumnavigating at age-19, becoming the first under the age of 21 and setting the world record as the youngest to do so.
