"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."History is ultimately the study of the past. It is the discovery, collection, organization, and presentation of information about past events. History is primarily used as a way of providing "perspective" on the problems of the present. It's common thought that what happened in the past has a direct and indirect effect on the events occurring at present. To know our past, is to gain insight on why and how things are unfolding around us in the present.
A Time Turner is a magical devise, which lets the user travel back in time. Normally, the number of turns you perform equals to the number of hours you go back in time.Yet, for the purpose of this class, we have modified Time Turners, which go back to certain periods of time in world history. With each additional turn, we will be taken back to a different event, which occured roughly during the same time, yet probably in a different place.
We will go back and relive our magical history. This is a very hands on approach to the study of History of Magic. It is designed to engage students in appreciating history for what it is, not just some boring subject you must read to pass a class. Prior knowledge to the events in magical history is a plus, but not required for as we go back in time, it is for you to find out where we are and what is occurring around you.

CAUTION: Even though this is a hands on class, there are very strict rules when it comes to traveling back in time. Anyone who acts up or refuses to follow the rules will be dropped from the course, points deducted accordingly!There is no pre-requisite in order to take this class. It is opened to 2nd - 7th years. First years be advised, the only way you can take this class is if you talk to the department chairperson prior to enrollment, for it is an advanced level course and just a bit dangerous.Classroom Policies and StandardsAttendance is very important in this class! Since it is a field trip class, you must be on time all of the time. Once Time Turners are handed out, that is it. If you miss the class collectively going back in time, there is no way for you to join us. Missing a class is frowned upon for once we go back in time to one period, there will be no repeating it. So be on time and present every day to class!Follow the Rules. It is imperative that you listen to the professor and follow all his rules. Going back in time, while fun, is very dangerous, as it can cause a change in linear history if tampered with to the extreme. We are merely going back to observe and witness history. Rarely would we get involved with anyone we meet in the past. With that said, anyone who strays from the group to wander on their own, without the professor's permission will be dropped from the course. Any mishandling of a Time Turner will result in being dropped from the course. Any misconduct of any sort, you will be dropped from the course.Journals. Each student will be asked to keep a journal. For each lesson, there will be an assignment posted that must be completed in the journal. This counts as homework and part of classwork. Each assignment will have a due date, even though all work can be submitted up until the last day of class.Engrade. I use Engrade to keep track and calculate your grades. This will be your only means of finding your grade. You can PM me with grade requests, but I will suggest you check Engrade. Engrade will allow you to see why you got such a grade and then you can ask me if you have any questions.Quills. Students who complete the course successfully will be awarded one quill at the end of the term. In order to receive a quill in this course you must get at least a 70% average, or an A, over the entire term.Dropping the course. If you find yourself in need to drop the course, please PM me so I can drop you from my office and gradebook. If you fail to notify me and fall behind, you will fail and not receive a quill.Grading Rubric You will be graded on the following:Attendance (10%)Classwork (20%)Participation (20%)Journals (50%)Overall Course Grading This is the official O.W.L. & N.E.W.T. testing scale for the class. This is so students become familiar with the scores and the grades. RULES

These are the general rules of the Time Turner Room. They must be followed at all times. All History of Magic Professors have access to any of the rooms at any time to conduct small group instruction or have class trips. Simply create a new topic for yourselves.All students must have permission from a History of Magic Professor to access these rooms without a Professor present. Professors must make the topic for these students. Though, it is strongly suggested that a Professor be present at all times.All First + Second Years must have a Professor present to travel back in time.All students must RP traveling back in time to only the event(s) listed in that specific room.Speaking or interacting with anyone they meet in the past is fine, as long as you do not indulge any information about the future. It is also imperative you know your history, especially the time you are going to, so you can blend in.No one is to take or bring anything back from the past nor bring anything from the future into the past.Dropping or throwing or losing a Time Turner is frowned upon. You will be penalized for damaging a Time Turner!Any misconduct will result in a suspension of Time Turner usage for a specific set time depending on how severe the misconduct was. Points will be deducted accordingly.Students have access to the Special Studies Room only if their event of travel is approved by the Department Chairperson.No one is to speak to their previous self in any period of the past! This is absolutely dangerous to your well-being. This rules especially goes for any person who uses the Special Studies Room.These are my rules for the class. He's been teaching History of Magic ever since. He received his magical education from Durmstrang Academy, where he excelled at History of Magic, Artithmancy and Transfiguration. During his studies, he meddle a bit in the Dark Arts, a subject area which has always fascinated him. Adrian is a native of Venice, Italy.
