IHOME
Welcome to Christian Impact!
We are a movement of Harvard students who seek together to explore the Gospel and live out deep relationships with Jesus Christ. We believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ provides true Life and Peace, and we seek to share this Good News with our fellow students just as we also seek to live out this Gospel in its fullness. We strive to create a community where people of all beliefs and backgrounds can feel welcomed, loved, and known.
Through weekly small group gatherings, large group dinner discussions, and other community events, we focus on building authentic, meaningful relationships with each other in hopes that by doing so we might better come to know Jesus and serve one another with Christ's love.
We look forward to seeing you!

Vision:
That everyone would know someone who truly loves and follows Jesus Christ.
Mission:
To love God and love one another.
Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC):
Christian Impact is part of the Harvard chapter of Campus Crusade for Christ, an international Christian organization dedicated to bringing the Gospel and Christ's love to the students of the world by founding and supporting groups such as CI on campuses worldwide.
Athletes in Action (AIA):
Christian Impact is closely linked with Athletes in Action, its counterpart. AIA is a CCC ministry with a national vision of reaching athletes across the globe and resourcing the world for Jesus Christ. Here at Harvard, AIA seeks to provide a Christ-centered environment to help athletes study the Bible and learn to apply Scriptural principals as they compete.
RealLife Boston:
God is doing amazing things all over Boston, and Harvard Christian Impact is only one part of the body of Christ in the area! CCC has partnered with Park Street Church to form a city-wide movement called RealLife Boston.
Not only does RealLife Boston sponsor many of our retreats and events, but through this movement, we at CI also have the incredible opportunity to join CCC groups from more than 44 other colleges across Boston in order to know Christ, to grow in Christ, and to make Christ known. Our goal is to bring the Gospel to every student in Boston.
Almost every Friday we meet together in an event known as CityWide. A time for socialization, celebration, and reflection, CityWide draws Christians and non-Christians together to sing, hear, and talk about God in a relaxed environment. Located right in Harvard Yard in Emerson 105 at 7:30pm, it could not be more convenient, and we look forward to seeing you there!
KnowinG
God
Personally
God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life
gods love
"God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life" John 3:16
gods plan
"Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent"
John 17:3
What prevents us from knowing God personally?
All of us sin and our sin has separated us from God
Man is sinful
"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23)
Man is separated
"The wages of sin is death" AKA spiritual separation from God (Romans 6:23)
The arrows illustrate that we are continually trying to reach God and establish the personal relationship with Him through our own efforts:
- a good life
- philosophy
- religion
...but we inevitably fail in this
Jesus Christ is God's only provision for man's sin
he died in our place
"God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
he rose from the dead
"He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures... He appeared to Peter, then to the twelve. He then appeared to more than five hundred" (1 Corinthians 15:3-6)
He is the Only Way to God
"Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through
Me" (John 14:6)
Christ died to
serve as our
bridge to communion
with God
We must individually choose to receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
We must receive christ
"But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God" (John 1:12)
we receive Christ through faith
"By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of
God; not as a result of works so that no one should boast" (Ephesians 2:8,9)
We Receive Christ by Personal Invitation
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him" (Revelation 3:20)
Receiving Christ involves turning to God from self (repentance) and trusting Christ to come into our lives to forgive us of our sins and to make us what He wants us to be
Just to agree intellectually that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for our sins is not enough. Nor is it enough to have an emotional experience. We receive Jesus Christ by faith, as an act of our will.
which circle best represents your life
which circle would you like to have represent your life
you can receive christ right now by faith through prayer
Prayer is simply talking to God. He knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart. If you need help, here's an example:
"Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the
door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be."
Does this express the desire of your heart? If so, we invite you to pray this right now and Christ will come into your life
not the end
If you sincerely asked Jesus into your life then you have begun a personal relationship with God. What follows is a lifelong journey of change and growth as you get to know God better through Bible reading, prayer, and interaction with other Christians.
