Ever heard that sickening thud as a bird collides with your living room window? Daniel Klem, Jr., a biologist at Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania, estimates that 100 million birds die as a result of hitting glass every year in the United States alone.
Any window, no matter how large or small is a potential killer. How can this killer be stopped? CollidEscape makes your windows visible to birds without obstructing your view of the great outdoors. CollidEscape can even be printed to show off your style or convey your company’s marketing message.
It's the transparent and reflective characteristics of glass that cause bird collisions. To eliminate this problem glass must be made visible to birds...

We just installed the CollidEscape on our kitchen window overlooking our deck. It looks wonderful! Thank you for shipping it so quickly - it arrived by Fed Ex the FOLLOWING day! In the week before I contacted you, we had two female cardinals fly into the window - and die. We decided we HAD to do something, so I looked on the internet for window coverings and found yours, with the recommendation from the Chicago Audubon Society. I am confident that we won't have any more birds flying into the window. Thank you! -Carolyn S.
"I just wanted to let you know that I received the order very quickly, thank you for that. The product is fabulous.
It was easy to cut and install and I have enough leftover for a window. Our great view of the outside is maintained but from the outside the results are dramatic, the patio door appears solid white. It is attractive, gives daytime privacy and stops the birds from trying to fly through the house.
No one notices it at all from the inside unless I show them the outside. I can now leave the blinds open, enjoy the view and not worry about a bird collision!
The cost to me is well worth the life of even one bird."

"Well, we installed the CollidEscape on our windows about a month ago and I can report that not a single bird has been injured or killed since. This is a wonderful success story for us, as we love our birds. Mourning doves were the primary victim, but also gold, house finches and other birds were frequently found wandering around in a daze in front of our windows. No more. A nice side benefit is that we can leave our blinds open all day long without anyone being able to see in, yet the room still has plenty of light. This is great stuff!"

"We installed plain white CollidEscape on our large picture windows 3-4 years ago. Since then, not one bird to our knowledge has hit our windows. We and our pets have no problem looking out and with proper lens focus we take photos of the outside through the film. Some friends ask about it and we always recommend your great product!"

How do I apply CollidEscape to my windows?
How long does CollidEscape last?
How wide is CollidEscape?
How is CollidEscape removed?
I want to buy printed Collidescape, but I dont have a design. What can I do?
What does CollidEscape look like?
Will film applied to glass cause thermal glass breakage?
Will film applied to insulated units cause a seal failure?
Will the fims discolor over a short period of time?
Films are a quick band-aid solution?
Does CollidEscape prevent viewing out at night?
1. Step outside to clean and measure the surface of the window you plan to cover with CollidEscape. The entire surface of the window must be covered with the film.
2. Separate CollidEscape from its backing. Notice how one side of the film is black and smooth. This is the side of the film which sticks to the exterior surface of the glass.
3. Dampen the entire exterior surface of the glass with a spray bottle or hose, then affix the film to your window leaving the half inch excess all the way round. For best adhesion, place a drop of detergent in the water.
4. If your window is wider than the film you need to overlap two pieces of film making sure you line up the holes to match.
5. Cut and remove the excess and overlap with a razor or exacto blade.
CollidEscape Application Instructions_SingleSheet.pdf
Manufacturers suggest that the film has a maximum life span of approximately three years. We believe that it has a much longer life span when used in this kind of application. You must remember that this film's original design was for advertising purposes and that any imagery applied to its surface fades once exposed to sunlight, thus reducing its life expectancy.
Up to 54 wide.
The beauty of this film is that it CAN be removed. If you remove the film within a year you can simply peel it off by hand. The longer you leave it on the window the harder it is to remove. At worst, you might have to use a razor blade to aid in peeling it off.

CollidEscape is a white film with thousands of perforated holes in it. Plain CollidEscape appears white on the outside of the house. When looking outside from within the house it looks like looking through a window screen. Please see our photo gallery for pictures.
Will film applied to glass cause thermal breakage?
Film applied to glass according to manufacturer's specifications can never be the sole cause of thermal breakage. Only if the glass is not manufactured and/or installed to established industry standards can window film be a contributing factor. To reinforce this point, some window film solution providers even offer a five-year thermal break- age warranty that includes glass and film replacement. According to Alsip, the actual breakage occurrence is 1 in 2000 windows installed, an extremely small percentage.
Window Film Solutions have been applied to millions of square feet of insulated glass units throughout the world for more than 30 years and have never been shown to be the cause of seal failure, says Alsip. CollidEscape will only increase the pressure by 0.55 psi (pounds per square inch), while the federal specifications require windows to with- stand a minimum of 3.30 psi. - more than six times the film's potential pressure increase. Many window manufacturers will honour their seal failure warranty if a window film is applied.
WIll the films discolor over a short period of time?
CollidEscape is protected by strong ultraviolet inhibitors, guaranteeing that the films will not discolour over time. 7-year material performance specifications back up these claims.
Alsip says that the higher quality polyester window films offer an abrasive coating and adhesion technology that ensures that the specific requirements related to performance and appearance can be met over the long term (20 years or more). After this time, the film can easily be removed and replaced with a new film. CollidEscape is are compatible with standard cleaning solutions and procedures.
Simply not true; not only does CollidEscape offer the required reflective bird collision and solar protection but also allow clear viewing from the inside at night.
While a strong window collision can kill a bird on impact, many times birds are stunned and appear to recover and fly away. Unfortunately, these injured birds may later suffer internal hemorrhaging and brain swelling that leads to death. Stunned birds may also be less agile fliers and more disoriented, making them vulnerable to predators.
Any window, no matter how large or small is a potential killer. How can this killer be stopped? Glass is invisible to birds. CollidEscape makes your windows visible to birds without obstructing your view of the great outdoors. CollidEscape can even be printed to show off your style or convey your companys marketing message.
This film adheres to the exterior surface of a window. Thousands of small perforations in this covering allow ample light to pass through the window to the interior, while substantially reducing the window's exterior reflectivity and transparency, the two characteristics that cause birds to collide with windows
