AboutOn the Celebration of the 200th Anniversary of Paraguay’s independence, the Comisión Bicentenario Paraguay - USA, with support from the Paraguayan Embassy, is proud to present and produce a Music and Dance Festival in Philadelphia on May 14, 2010 at the Perelman Theatre at the Kimmel Center. The Committee hopes to attract Paraguayan Nationals from all over the US but primarily New York to Washington, DC to attend, plus any other individual in the Philadelphia area with an interest and shared passion for the arts and beautiful and colorful traditions of Paraguay. The event will celebrate the riches of Paraguay’s musical and cultural heritage, featuring Paraguayan artists (musicians, crafts artists, chefs) residing in the US as well as distinguished artists invited from Paraguay. The Ambassador of Paraguay in Washington DC, Rigoberto Gauto, has requested that the Philadelphia celebration serve as the official event, so as to draw people to Philadelphia, chosen symbolically for being the birthplace of American independence.
