About

Based in the Los Angeles, he has the reputation of not only a great composer and band leader, but as a refined Flamenco artist and accompanist, with full understanding of the authentic and deeply complex formulas found in this Spanish guitar music and art. Benjamin has been active in the flamenco community in Los Angeles for 2 years, in San Francisco for over 8 years, and in Seattle before that, where he has become well known for his inventive musical direction, sublime compositions and easy going attitude. He is also an international recording star and genre pioneer in Japan, Canada and Europe with his albums of flamenco guitar and of his Flamenco/Metal band FLAMETAL.Benjamin is currently endorsed by respected instrument companies like Godin Guitars, Cordoba Guitars and Daniel Mari Strings.Benjamin is one of the few (if not only) American flamenco guitarists ever featured in Spain # 1 newspaper "El Pais" and in Spain's #1 selling flamenco magazine: ALMA 100 (March 2008 issue). Since studying in Sevilla and Madrid in 2005, Benjamin can regularly be seen performing Flamenco guitar in clubs, restaurants and theaters throughout California, and gives clinics and workshops around the country.

LOCATION/AVAILABILITY • Although Based in Long Beach, CA, Benjamin performs all over California, from San Diego, to Orange County, to Los Angeles, to Santa Barbara and Montecito,even up to the Bay area and Napa Valley! Please call or email for availability: 714-618-8469 benwoods66_yahoo.comSETUP • Benjamin provides his own small but powerful sound systems, even battery operated if no electrical outlets are available (the beach). If you have a DJ, Benjamin will work with him and his systems if requested. His most popular option is Solo Guitar, however, he also performs with a flamenco dancer, using backing tracks, duos, trios or full flamenco band and ensembles.OPTIONS • 1. SOLO GUITARIST (can use backing tracks, can sing Gipsy Kings)2. GUITARIST WITH FLAMENCO DANCER,3. BAND(GIPSY KINGS STYLE) 4 or 5 performers.4. BAND WITH FLAMENCO DANCER(s), 4-8 performers.(Each additional performer will be an additional $300)RATES • The minimum base rate starts at $400, or $500 on a weekend. This includes Solo Guitar performance for:guest arrival (approximately 1/2 hour),ceremony (approximately 15 minutes), andreception-cocktails/dinner (approximately 1 hour).Other conditions may incur additional charges such as: location, additional performance time, learning requested music pieces, etc. Please call for a more accurate quote and Benjamin will do his best to meet your needs with your budget.
