BEHIND THE MUSCLES
I am a 23 year old Figure competitor circa 2010 - I believe I have found my calling! Growing up in an athletic household, my Mom and Dad both bodybuilding champions, being in shape was a standard of living and the gym was a second home to me. Yet I never wanted to transform my body to that of a bodybuilders. I was a ballet and jazz dancer for 16 years, ran track and field, and was a cheerleader and gymnast for 7 years. I continued this until sophomore year of college, I got bored. Eventually, I dropped out of college, quit cheerleading, my relationship of 2 years had come to an end, and I then started to frequent parties and didn’t step foot into the gym again until 2009. I found myself lost, not knowing what would make me happy anymore, no idea where my future was headed...I had lost my never-ending craving to absorb the richness of life. So when did I discover figure? When did life turn around? One of my closest and dearest friends dated a girl who competed locally, I was intrigued and wanted to challenge myself and knew it was in my genes to compete, and have the ability to be successful. After doing my research, without delay, I hit the ground running and the first day back in the gym…I was hooked. Starting training in December 2009, my life was forever changed. I was so focused I had a shoe box taped shut with every thought, craving and bag of candy shoved in there, and wouldn't allow myself to touch it until I got my Pro Card. Four months later, my dream became a reality and I received my IFPA Pro Card at my very first show, The Southern States Classic on April 24, 2010 in Liberty, MO. Two weeks later at the Nutri-Sport in Des Moines, IA - I received the Overall again as well as best Figure Presentation!Now, still chasing my dream, I’ve also become exremely passionate about stage presence and posing. The greatest gift has not only been my ability to compete but to share my enthusiasm with other aspiring athletes and coach them to their utmost potential. I help each woman express their personalities on stage, I bring the glitter out of their veins! I want to share my gift with women young and old, teach them that they too can achieve any fitness goals they set their mind to no matter the circumstances, just as long as you want it bad enough. I'm excited to see where this sport can take me - the biggest and brightest star in my sky is the Olympia...and with the help and support of my family, and friends I know I can reach it.Take Care and Always Remember...To succeed, first believe...YOU CAN.
