Ben Lee Foster
Since the age of 9, young film director/Author, Ben Lee Foster has been creating and directing inspirational films & inspiring books to impact youth nationwide. He presently has several short films, music videos, 2 inspiring books & a feature film under his belt.
His company, Ben Foster Films,LLC also known as Visual Poetry is a company that creates films to help Make A Difference in life or To Follow Their Dreams. Ben seen this vision when he was a young boy. At the age of 9, he created his first film after seeing a need to improve the behaviors he's seen amongst his peers and people in his community. He shyed away from violence and wanted to find a way to help others refrain from it. When his writing teacher gave a writing assignment, he wrote a story about the effects caused by violence, not realizing that later it would have ended up on the screen. Ben was awarded by the Mayor of his City for this great accomplishment. By noticing that he could make a difference, he continued to make movies. He has had the opportunity speak with young people and has gained many positive results.
Ben believes that he is the right person to help solve the problems with youth, because, being the same age as his peers, and going through peer pressure as well, he seems to understand them. He also thinks that they will listen to someone their age, who is trying to give good advice. Ben serves as a living example of how positive thinking can result in successful outcomes. His upbeat outlook has assisted in keeping his dreams and goals firmly planted in a can do attitude.
Ben was recognized for his outstanding work in the May 2007 BLACK ENTERPRISE Magazine, 2005 CULTURE MAGAZINE and the ESSENCE 2010 Magazine. He has been seen on ABC “FAST FORWARD”, CBS” SPEAK UP”, NBC “10! Show”, “CNN Headline News”, “MONTEL WILLIAMS” show, and many others. He has been inducted into the "African-American Hall of Fame" and the "Kids Hall of Fame”. In addition, he was awarded the Gold Metal winner for the NAACP ACTSO Competition for Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the filmmaking category. He attends Columbia College Hollywood where he continues to further his career in film.
Ben states, “When I become successful, I plan to invest in another young person's life”. His motto is "Make the right decisions & follow your dreams".
