Back in the beginning, three aspiring musicians in three cities across the ocean worked at their music and dreamed of big breaks. In New Zealand, Ben pumped away his fist in their version of Pop Idol; an insane learning curve in the public glare. Summer tours in small and sandy pubs were relieved by myspace support from Sydney fans living and loving his original music.
Kyle also brushed with reality TV, a show to make a band, funded by Lou Pearlman, which all came crashing down as the creator of NSYNC was exposed as a Ponzi scheme mastermind and fraudster. So Kyle picks up, packs his bags and heads to the bright lights of L.A. where he may have been mistaken at times for ol' Ashton K. Ashton ain't got nothing on K.C!
Vaughan was already far from his Australian home traveling around the world playing gigs with one of the most world's most inspiring motivational speakers, then somehow ended up training tigers at Australia Zoo - to be the best damn tigers they can be! Also slamming his gat wherever he went.
So after some success, some raised hopes and a lot of failure, after all the myspace, reality TV and gig after gig after gig, these three guys decided to take a chance on a web ad for a UK-based boyband...
And then, having realised what they had gotten into - had to get themselves out.
After a escape featuring a runner from the rest of the band, an unsigned contract, and withheld passports they ran to the safety of The White Room Entertainment where they began writing and recording with some of the UK's top managers, producers and writers. The band was named for the nickname they gave their ordeal - the Scheme.
Combining their hard hitting lyrics, melodies and beats this new three piece band (vocals, keys, guitar) creates a fresh commercial pop sound about choices, mistakes and life in general.
The Scheme's message is let the music get you through the bad times, be careful who you trust and to get out of a bad situation and hit it big you may just have to come up with a "scheme" of your own.
