Brian Scharf is a creator of sacred space, with a background in architectural design and an insatiable appetite for existing within spaces that enliven the spirit. Since 2009, Brian has led teams to construct 22 site-specific bamboo architectural installations. He engages in all the phases of production including conceptual design, design development, production management, contracting, and building implementation. He travels often to Bali, where he has built a relationship with the village Geluntung, and has recieved mentorship in bamboo craft for over 3 years. He and Balinese Architect Agung Putrryahda have created the intercultural education group "Balifornia Bamboo".

In the past two years Brian has led teams to build installations all throughout California and in Bali, Indonesia using primarily natural materials such as timber bamboo. Brian's work brings character, shade, and ecological awareness to events and festivals who commision structures. Brian has also helped in site planning for various clients. Clients include:
