Brief on Cold
Laser Therapy
Apollo Laser Products was founded in 2006 by clinical practitioners and engineering professionals with 30 years of experience in developing and using advanced laser systems. Located near San Francisco, the company has grown to become a leading provider of cold laser therapy systems for pain and healing for a wide range of chronic and acute syndromes and diseases.
Apollo is by FAR the best designed, most efficient and easiest to use laser I have ever seen. It is durable, reliable and theraputically superior.
My patients love it, my practice and income have grown from it, and I can't imagine how I could practice without it. If you compare the features, design, trustworthiness, and VALUE of low level lasers available today, there is no better choice than the Apollo.

I recently sent in my PT2 for a battery replacement. I was amazed by how quickly you turned it around! It got back to me in very few days. I really did not keep track of how many days because I did not want to agonize over how long it was gone!! I could check my records, but I believe it was under 5 days including shipping time. Plus, there was a record of what was repaired, how it was tested, etc. This note is just to let you know how much I appreciate that level of service. So often these days, one buys a high ticket item...only to find little or no support after the purchase. It's wonderful that Apollo is different. Apollo is more like things used to be. That's wonderful!! It's nice to know we can depend in you!!
Sincerely,
Mike Ernesti, President;

How does COLD Laser Therapy Work?
Cold laser therapy is a form of phototherapy or light therapy. The cold laser device produces a beam of light, which is applied over the injured area to stimulate healiing. There is no pain with the treatment.
When laser light is absorbed by a living tissue, it triggers biological reactions in the cells. Chemical substances are produced, released and carried by the blood and lymphatic flow to other parts of the system. In this way the effects of cold laer light may not be only local, but can also achieve wide systematic physiological responses:
How is Apollo different from other lasers?
Apollo has created the most powerful cold laser therapy products available on the market today. With over 20 years of collaborative engineering and practitioner experience, Apollo provides you with the safest and most effective laser products you can buy.
Power is inversely proportional to the treatment time. This means that more powerful lasers require less treatment time. To relieve pain, a 2000mW laser can require 1-2 minutes and a 100mW laser requires 20 times that. This saves you time and enhances the patient experience.
Lightweight: The Apollo weighs less than three pounds!
Choices: Our new product line features both a lightweight portable laser as well as a durable desktop.
Price: With Apollo you get the most powerful Class 4 laser on the market at a Class 3 price.
Quality: Apollo uses premium medical grade Class 4 laser diodes that provide extra long life and reliability. The probes are made from Aerospace grade aluminum which means cool durable performance.
Proven: A proven track record of 4 years of sucessful sales.
Versatility: Apollo has also created a 500mW laser probe .
How is a laser different from an LED?
Laser diodes and LEDs are similar, however, lasers produce a more intense light than an LED and are better when you want deep penetration, such as when treating a hip, shoulder or knee LED probes and pads are fine for more superficial surface treatments.
Please note: You may also come across the term "SLD" (superluminescent diode) when researching light therapy products. Although there are light emitters called superluminous diodes, the term SLD used in the context of light therapy devices is for marketing purposes only - there is NO SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE between LEDs and SLDs used in light therapy devices.
Why is cold laser technology so much more effective than hot?
Cold laser technology promotes healing as well as pain reduction whereas hot technology may actually slow the healing process. A cold laser can be placed over a treatment area for longer treatment times without risk of burns or tissue damage. Cold lasers do not pose that same threat of burns or eye damage that can occur with hot lasers, thus lowering the practitioners risk of patient injury and malpractice events. In the end, hot lasers give no more therapeutic value than a hot pack.
Visible Red (VR) vs. Infrared (IR): The Difference?
For most indications, infrared is more versatile because it penetrates more deeply.
The Apollo is in the infrared range with a wavelength of 810nm. VR, typically around 660nm, is good for skin problems but not as versatile as an IR probe.
Do you provide training or protocols?
Dr. Turchin has written a comprehensive book called Light & Laser Therapy: Clinical Procedures that is included with each system.
Regular Light and Laser seminars are also held around the country. Click on the Education tab or call Apollo for more information on seminars.
What about treating acupuncture points?
We have a point probe that can be used on tender trigger and pain-points. We also have an optional "light guide" accessory that allows you to treat small points, the size of acupuncture points.
Many acupuncturists treat acupuncture points with lasers like ours even though the FDA has not approved laser acupuncture.
NOTE: The FDA has only cleared laser for treating pain. Since most active acupuncture points are painful, laser is often justified as a treatment mode.
Can it be used for smoking cessation?
The FDA has not approved lasers for smoking cessation, weight loss, or any other addictions treatments, but laser devices have been cleared to treat pain and muscle spasm.
Lasers might be helpful in relieving the physical aches and pains associated with withdrawal from cigarettes or other substances.
Laser may be used if the clinic has an IRB (Institutional Review Board), or if it is used by a licensed medical practitioner.
