Monkeesee Video
Next time you're in need of audio production ask yourself, what would monkeedo?
TV Advertising
Music, sound fx, voice overs. Everything that makes your television campaign sound as great as it looks.
See some of our television work right here.
Jayco
Bright, colourful and lively this TVC was one of the first with our new neighbours The Pixel Kitchen
A Day In Pompeii
The brilliant exhibition, A Day In Pompeii, at Museum Victoria needed a BIG TVC for the BIG screen at the MCG. To be screened during the AFL finals season the animated TVC afforded us the opportunity to be as dramatic as possible in the sound design.
Nandos
A series of new TVCs for Nandos whose quirky, often irreverent approach to applying popular culture to cooking chickens is a fabulously fresh approach to advertising on all mediums - Portugasm indeed!
Australian Open 2009
2009 is the fifth year we have recorded and produced all the TVC and radio audio for The Australian Open. We also record The Brisbane International, Medibank Sydney International and the Hobart Morilla International for Tennis Australia.
Adriatic
Adriatics its the furniture those rich people dont want you to have was born in the Monkeesee studio as those clever agency people shifted the direction and character of the voice talent from attitude to irony.
Hamish and Andy
Although the sound design is far more complex than you can hear the trick here is letting the talent shine through.
Dept of Transport
The Department of Transports We Get Around campaign has been an enormous rollout for the Victorian State Government. We have been involved at all stages of recording this campaign both for television and radio.
iPrimus
This cheeky iPrimus campaign was first pitched around the IPL cricket coverage. It has since moved to a broader TV base.
Haymes
An older Haymes commercial this is another example of great composition matching fantastic pictures.
Honda
This is a great example of composition bringing the pictures to life - with a little help from sound design.
Radio Advertising
As a studio not hinged to a vision suite we are often considered a radio only studio.
Whilst this clearly is not the case it has meant that we have produced a lot of radio campaigns.
From selling cars to Government messages, horse racing to tulip festivals, radio has been a big part of our working life.
A small selection of our work can be found here.
Games
Ever played a computer game with the sound turned down? We have. Games arrive here silent and its our job to bring them to life through creative sound design.
Heroes Over Europe
This is the latest game we have cast and recorded featuring 34 characters, all authentic, US, English and German voices totalling 4000 files.
It is to be released worldwide across a number of platforms later in 2009.
Black Market Bowling
Recorded at a bowling alley and further sweetened with SFX this was a fun project to work on.
ALF 2005, 2007
We have now recorded two AFL computer games featuring an array of past players and presenters from Dermott Brereton, Gerard Healy and Danny Frawley to Dennis Cometti.
Heatseeker
As well as casting and recording a big script for this fly game we also edited files in five other languages. A massive session all completed on time.
Payload
This is the full motion video played at the start of Payload - lots of clever sound design featuring dental drills, Mustang cars and elephants. There are multi levels of sound in the full version of this work featuring a full surround mix.
Heroes of the Pacific
This was our first major computer game and featured over 90 people in the cast and all three of our studios, recording and editing for over a month to produce in excess of 7000 files. We also did the casting.
Film and Animation
Score, foley, additional dialogue recording (adr), sound design. Film is a multi-media experience and sound is crucial to the story telling process.
Richmond Football Club
We were asked to bring the new Richmond emblem to life. A tricky job when you are trying to please everyone from the client to hardened fans. We like this guy - fortunately so does the club.
Anaka
The Mysterious Geographical Explorations of Jasper Morello
Anthony Lucas brilliant 26 minute animation featuring Joel Edgerton, Louis Fiander and Jude Beaumont was sound built by John Rowland and nominated for an Academy Award and Bafta in 2006 for best animation.
Rats and Cats
Directed by Tony Rogers (Wilfred) and featuring Adam Zwar and Jason Gann, Rats and Cats is a dark comedy that was mixed and sweetened at Monkeesee during 2008.
The Other Africa
A beautifully filmed piece on the state of health in many of the poorer African countries and how this is being tackled on the ground by the Christian Brothers. The Other Africa was a long and rewarding session for all.
3 Months at Sea
Rogue
In this Hollywood meets the Northern Territory epic, Rogues main culprit - the deadly salty was well supported by a cast featuring Sam Worthington, (Terminator 3) Stephen Curry and Radha Mitchell. We sound designed the trailer into a dynamic, frightening 2 minutes of horror and action.
Installations
Sound enhances a museum installation and enriches the experience for the audience. From dinosaurs to the Commonwealth Games, we hear you.
Dinosaur Walk
The incredible exhibition of the Dinosaur Walk at Museum Victoria required a sound design both categorically exact, as substantiated by the paleontologists whilst being exciting, even slightly fearsome for the traveller. This was a build, which took forest atmos and creature sounds, extinct and undocumented into an aural experience supporting spectacular fossils and casts that have become a contemporary favourite, particularly for the young.
Museum Victoria, Photographer - Benjamin Healley
National Sports Museum
This was a remarkable experience featuring incredible archival footage dating back to the early 1900s and all the truly historic highlights of Australian sport both nationally and internationally, much of which was narrated by Bud Tingwell.
Marine Exhibition
This was our first big sound design for Museum Victoria and included composition as well as incorporating many authentic sounds recorded in Victorian waters by the curator Dr Mark Norman.
A challenging piece of work also involving animation.
Commonwealth Games 2006
After signing a string of confidentiality agreements we were privy to much of the Opening Ceremony for this fantastic event many components of which were featured in this exhibition we recorded for Museum Victoria.
