Bach Planning & Design, LLC is a full-service design firm specializing in interiors with a focus on wellness.
We are a firm that is committed to providing you with a well-planned interior space. With over 20 years experience behind us, Bach Planning & Design, LLC has a strong track record of very satisfied clients.
We strive to create projects that are aesthetically pleasing, warm, comfortable, and above all, safe and ergonomically workable. We specialize in healthcare, senior living and therapeutic environments for people with special needs. An emerging area of interest is to design for the end-of-life experience.
My experience in designing for the clinical environment, such as nursing stations, pharmacies and laboratories means that I understand how spaces fit together. My background designing ergonomic workstations for the corporate environment means that I know how to design for work functions.
We can provide you with floor plans tailored for your needs, recommendations for materials and finishes, and a budget along with sources for purchasing and installing.
My career focus is to develop my education in sustainable and evidence based design to build safe, efficient and productive wellness environments.

I accepted the challenge of designing a check-in room and adjacent lounge for a shelter for the homeless in downtown Minneapolis.
The services I provided included assembling the project team, leading and articulating the design direction using all donated materials, recruiting and obtaining most project materials (buildng materials and furniture), scheduling the construction work and also assisting during construction.
I am humbled that the project has been well-received and is successfully providing a warm secure environment for people seeking shelter

“Cindy has been terrific to work with. Her dedication to and knowledge of healthcare design is exemplary. She develops an excellent rapport and connection to her clients and works diligently to address client needs. Her knowledge and kind demeanor put clients at ease that the project is in capable hands. With regards to healthcare art, she makes choices that satisfy both the client and the guidelines that research has specified as appropriate and therapeutic for compositional content.” Kevin Sink, M.A., Owner and artist, Kevin Sink Photography
“I have worked with Cindy on a number of projects. The most recent project was the design and specification of furnishings for the Urgency Room in Woodbury, MN. Cindy was a key partner in the success of this project; from design, planning, specifications, and project managment for a very complicated project delivered in a very short time frame and within budget. Cindy is an excellent resource and a great partner on any team.” Dan Sheehan, President, The Furniture Source
“I worked with Cindy on a custom residential project. Cindy is a wonderful designer, great at helping the client interpret what they want, very detail oriented, and has a special talent for managing multiple personalities.

The Value of Pro Bono Work
I recently added a section to this website entitled "Pro Bono". The project was to renovate two rooms for the organization, "People Serving People" which was located in downtown Minneapolis. My work included recruiting the team members, designing the spaces around donations, and assisting in the installation of the work itself. My team included:
Deborah Sweetland, Ramona Barbeau, Todd Hendricksen, Liliane Schilling, and Heidi Lambertz. All contributed in their own unique way to create a wonderfully welcoming environment for people needing transitional housing.
Although the rooms turned out wonderful, I felt that the project was ultimately not about design; it was about making life better for others in a unique way that was truly mine. Our room was located right off the main entryway. During the weekends that we worked, we listened to the chatter and activity of many people. We found new ways to contribute to others' needs that gave us much satisfaction. We developed a healthy appreciation and respect for the staff and team members of the organization we came to serve.
People Serving People brings in people going through stressful transition. They offer a warm and caring service to getting people self-sufficient. I was very fortunate to be able to contribute to this great cause.
