The Cobrette™ was developed in 1991 and went into production in early 1992. With 4 dealers in the USA and one in Oslo Norway for all of Europe the Cobrette has enjoyed the roads worldwide for almost two decades. Thirty years of refinements have earned a celebrated status and more than a 500,000 Vette’s produced from 1968 to 1982 makes the non-collector years (1974-1982) very affordable donor cars. Using a GM chassis ensures the ease of assembly while maintaining an affordable budget. The quality of factory service procedures and aftermarket service manuals makes the Cobrette™ the world’s best-documented kit. All kits include an assembly manual and a Chilton’s Vette Service manual.
Using a Phase 2 Cobrette™ body simply requires you to bolt the body to your donor chassis using the eight (8) factory captivated bolt mounting locations. The floor and body are bonded as one piece to simplify this procedure. The concept resembles putting together a large version of a model you may have put together when you were growing up.

The Cobrette ia Vertte Body replacement or a re-body rather than the assembly of many altered or hybrid parts,. It is possible to drive your donor into the shop and drive out with your Cobrette without replacing the entire drive train and suspension. The Cobrette has a 4 wheel, 4 piston disc brakes, and 4 wheel independent suspension on all cars. The wheelbase is 98 inches or 8 inches longer and is 5 inches wider. The Cobrette can be built and completed including your labor for as little as $23,900 . You can be hte proud owner and builder a high quality and reliable car that can be serviced at any Chevy dealer nationwide. .
Keep all of the receipts and take lots of photos to document your build. If you ever break while on a cruise your could take this car to any dealer for repair or find the part in the smallest town. If built with multiple donors or parts from certain year groups, only you need to remember what model or year group a specific part was removed from before repair. Our build concept uses a complete chassis as designed by the manufacturer. If the aftermarket upgrades are used it is still for a 1968 to 1982 Corvette.
The Corvette and its chassis may be the best documented car ever produced because of its popularity and length of continuous production. The service manual provided to with the purchase of your Cobrette will walk you through any procedure in great detail. GM spent millions of dollars crash esting and proving this chassis design. unlike any other Cobra inspired kit car in the marketplace Decades of improvements are very well documented with several companies fighting for your upgrade dollars.

You are not limited to a GM or Chevy engine in the Cobrette . We offer adapter plates that allow most common engine combinations to be utilized. The choice of engine and transmission combination is tendless.
The Vette body is secured to the chassis at 8 mounting locations. The entire body can be simply removed as one unit from the Vette chassis. The new Cobrette body is secured to the frame using the factory mount locations and aftermarket Urethane bushings included in evry kit. The body and floor are bonded together in the mold and when removed creates a precise one-piece body that is sealed from heat and moisture with a durable composite base. Bolt the body to your chassis, reinstall the steering column, the new inclusive wiring harness, fuel system and interior and you are ready to go.

True 4 wheel independent suspension,4 piston disc brakes on all 4 wheels combined with a low center of gravity and its low sprung weight distributed over a 98-inch wheelbase and a 59-inch track width with is unbeatable. The Cobrette™ as seen in this video below was driven and tested PRIOR to actually bolting the body in place. This can simplify with Chassis brake and steering adjustments. PHASE 2 $6,795.00!!! BODY/FLOOR BOLT ON This kit is designed for an individual with mechanical aptitude or access to those in the Corvette profession to simplify the conversion. The concept is simple: Remove (UNBOLT) all front and rear original Vette (68-82) frame to bumper extensions. Unbolt Eight (8) Original Body bolts and remove the complete Vette body (Note: The floor ,hood, doors, front & rear clip all can be removed as one unit. Simply replace the Cobrette Body and Floor in the same position and re-bolt the same eight (8) blots. Remember, our floor is a mold styled after an original Vette which bolts in exactly the same position from (68-82). The main difference is the rear compartment which we eliminate in our floor mold for additional storage space. Included all components below
