AYSO Youth Soccer Region #1161
Everyone Plays / Balanced Teams / Open Registration
Positive Coaching / Good Sportsmanship / Player Development
AYSO is a 100% volunteer organization, no one involved with our region is paid. It is with everyone's help that we are able to bring a quality soccer program to all of our children. Please take a moment to read the areas below where we need volunteers to see if you can help.
Lining Fields
Each week during the season the fields need to be lined. Once the fields have been lined all that needs to happen is painting over the lines that are already on the field. The region supplies the paint and paint sprayer. This can be done on Thursday nights during practice, during the day Thursday or Friday or on Friday nights. If you are interested in helping or just want more information please contact our Safety Director.
Mowing Fields
Depending on the weather conditions the fields may need to be mowed weekly (early fall and late spring) or every other week (late fall and early spring). The church provides us with large mowers to mow the fields with. If there is only one person this takes between 2 to 3 hours to do, with two people the time can be cut in half. Fields should ideally be mowed during the days anytime from Wednesday to Friday. If you are interested in helping or just want more information please contact our Safety Director.
Picture Day Helper
On picture day help is needed to line the teams up and make sure teams are taking their pictures in order of the schedule and notify the photographer when teams are ready. This can be as little or as much time as you have to volunteer on this day each season. If you are interested in helping or just want more information please contact our Purchasing Coordinator.
Delivering Registration Flyers
Before registration starts each season registration flyers are given to each school to send home with the students. These need to be delivered during the school days. If you can help to take these to schools that are close to you, or have a day during the week where you would like to help take these to other schools that is great. If you are interested in helping or just want more information please contact our Advertising / Publicity and Sponsorship Coordinator.
Registration Helper
When we hold registration help is needed to help the parents register their children for the upcoming season. Registrations are usually held the last two weekends of each season and then about three times prior to the start of the next season. Volunteers can help for an hour, or for the whole time and anywhere in between. If you are interested in helping or just want more information please contact our Registrar.
Hey Parents!
You won't find paid coaches and referees here. Were all volunteers! Most of our coaches and referees are parents like you, and joined us with little or no experience. Fortunately, AYSO supports our volunteers with certified training courses provided at no charge.
We'd like you to coach and/or referee with us. It's an excellent and rewarding way to share an experience with your child, and give to the community!
Refereeing
For all U-8 games and above we need to have a center referee to call the games. For U-10 and up we also need to have two assistant referees to signal when the ball is in and out of play and if a player is offside. If you are interested in helping for one game a season or one game a weekend there is FREE training available to teach you all you need to know to referee a game. During the season referees are asked weekly when they can referee and when they can't and then a schedule is created based on these requests. Anyone from the age of 12 and up can be a referee. If you are interested in helping or just want more information please contact our Referee Administrator.
Coaching
Each team needs a head coach and ideally has an assistant coach. Coaches are in charge of having one practice a week depending on weather conditions (anywhere from a half hour for younger players up to an hour for the older players) and being at the games. FREE training is available for each age group of coaches to go over the game of soccer and what players in that age group should be coached. If you are interested in helping or just want more information please contact our Coach Administrator.

Each board position is for a term of one year at which point it is open to anyone who is interested in volunteering to do what is required of that position.
