JAMES GIDDINGS WINS
' TEA TIL NEARLY DARK SUMMER EVENING SERIES
James Giddings of KORR Racing won the overall Championship of the closely contested Team REME KTM summer evening series without even cocking his leg over a bike for the last round. James was in Finland for the 2011 ISDE and so he was absent from the Expert line up. He had already done enough in the last 3 rounds to secure the Championship. Just behind by 1 point was his ISDE team mate James Jackman who was also on International duties. Roger Frean tried hard on Wednesday to claim the win but it was just not to be, I don't think anybody was going to beat Daryl Bolter (KORR Racing) as he was riding like his bike was on rails!!
Tom Moore claimed the Vet' honours, being totally consistent throughout the series by winning the class by 12 points over Dave Grover & Berni Macari who both finished on 40 points.
Gareth Hughes won the Clubman championship in convincing style by winning every round and having a clean sweep of 60 points. Following Gareth was Darren Mason and Dan Lewis in joint second position on 47 points. We will see you in the Expert class Gareth at our next event?
Paul Cook won the Sportsman class. Having been consistent over the last 3 rounds everyone thought that Paul had thrown away the championship by only coming 4th on Wednesday night but Paul had obviously done his maths and worked out that was all he needed to do to secure victory. Clubman next event Paul.
second place went to Oliver Macrea just 2 points behind Paul with Elliot Davies a few points back (after missing the 1st round) but still a good 3rd overall.
Look Forward now for Team REME KTM is running the Natterjack Enduro (BEC) on 24/25 Sept.
There is also plans for a Winter series as usual starting a bit earlier this year, one of these rounds might well be a 6 hour Ironman/Team Hare & Hound. So keep looking back here for further details.
