How Can We Help?
Prayers!
Please pray that Avery will continue to respond well to her treatment, and that she will be able to stay infection free and stay out of the hospital.
Donations!
With the tough economy and a huge pile of medical bills, Avery's family can benefit greatly from financial donations. You can make a donation to Avery by visiting THIS PAGE.
Be Healthy and Careful!
It's critically important that children not be sent to school sick. Children (and adults) who go out in public when sick can spread illness to everyone around them. Illness and infection are the biggest dangers to Avery and other cancer patients, who have compromised immune systems.
So, especially during cold and flu season (and the crazy southern California ever-changing weather) - Please remember these important health tips:
1. Wash and/or sanitize your hands frequently!
2. Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze (preferably NOT with your hands)
3. Stay home when you're sick and get plenty of rest.
4. Resist the urge to shake hands with people during cold and flu season - a hug, or a friendly touch on the arm or shoulder can convey the same warm greeting without risking the spread of germs.
5. Drink plenty of water and get plenty of rest! If you are well rested and well hydrated you are less likely to get sick in the first place.
