Aspergers Syndrome affects people in lots of ways and lots of people have Aspergers, people who have Aspergers can also be known as Aspies.
For those of you with blank expressions not really knowing what Aspergers is then you should skip to the 'What is Aspergers' page where the basics of Aspergers are explained. I couldn't tell you 100% of what Aspergers is all on one page and not everyone with Aspergers has the same experience so you can try reading around. 'NAS' stands for the National Autistic Society, they aim to help people with Aspergers live happy lives. They hope that everyone can learn what Aspergers is and accept it and if you would like to know more then the NAS is a reliable source http://www.nas.org.uk/ is the address to take you to the homepage.
If you still want to know more then you should try to read books and ask people with Aspergers about what Aspergers is and other things. When you think that you understand Aspergers a bit better then you could educate people about Aspergers and not feel scared about it.
The biggest reason that people do not know what Aspergers is is because they are not told what it is and they often think that people with Aspergers are rude, selfish people who only want to discuss their obsessions and don't care about other people.
Once you know what Aspergers is then you will hopefully understand it. From organising a coffee morning to trying to involve people with Aspergers in your activities you can help out in a big way,
