Welcome to the Theta Zeta Chapter of Alpha Sigma Alpha!
Our Mission:
Alpha Sigma Alpha promotes high ideals and standards for its members throughout their lives by emphasizing balance among our four aims of intellectual, physical, social and spiritual development. Alpha Sigma Alpha provides opportunities through:
Sisterhood –- forming strong bonds of unconditional friendship based on common values and experiences;
Heritage –- expressed through creed, ritual and history; and
Leadership and Service -– enhanced by chapter, campus and community involvement.

Here at Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis the Alpha Sigma Alpha Chapter started as a local sorority called Theta Zeta Psi. In 2007, that sorority was invited to go national through Alpha Sigma Alpha and soon became a colony. In April of 2008 the colony was officially Installed and became, by coincidence, the Theta Zeta Chapter of Alpha Sigma Alpha.

To fill my days with satisfying activity,
To find dominant beauty in art, literature, nature, and friendships,
To know the peace and serenity of a divine faith,
To love life and joyously live each day to its ultimate good—
This is my creed in Alpha Sigma Alpha.

Special Olympics is a not-for-profit international organization that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Each year, Special Olympics touches lives in hundreds of communities across the nation and around the world. Each year hundreds of Alpha Sigma Alpha members, both active and alumnae, make a difference to this important organization. The Theta Zeta Chapter strives to volunteer at events around Indianapolis as often as possible. Our members favorite events include the Fall Classic, the State Bowling Tournament, and the Polar Plunge.
This year, our chapter created the Hula Hoop for Hopes event, in which our members and students hula hooped for 48 hours to raise money for the Special Olympics.
The S. June Smith Center is a private non-profit agency that provides early identification, education, training, and therapy to infants and children with developmental disabilities and delays. S. June Smith Center is located in Pennsylvania and the founder of the center, Dr. S. June Smith, was a life long Alpha Sigma Alpha member of the Kappa Kappa Chapter. The Theta Zeta Chapter holds toy drives, collecting both toys and other items the center may need.
The ladies of the Theta Zeta chapter have also helped volunteer around campus and the community. We have donated and volunteered at places and events such as DAMAR, Ronald McDonald House, Relay for Life, Race for the Cure, Jagathon, Greeks in the Streets, Riley's Children Hospital, Service in the City, Make a Difference Day, Soup Kitchens, Habitat for Humanity, and much more!
