Hi, my name is Dan. On June 7th, 2010, I started a "30 Day Music Challenge" of my own design. This is what I came up with.

These songs were recorded from June 7-20, 2010, with minimal overdubbing from June 20- July 4, 2010.
I recorded all of the songs at home on a Tascam 24 track digital recording studio.
Everything you hear is played by me, mixed by me, and mastered by me.
I have presented them here in chronological order, based on the day they were written.
The Challenge
These are the three rules I started with:
Step 1) for 14 days, write one song per day. Record your progress somehow, whether it is writing down lyrics, or recording a scratch track of the song.
Step 2) Spend the next 14 days mixing and mastering the music, adding instruments, and re-recording takes as necessary in order to get a more polished sound.
Step 3) Somehow share the music with everyone. Originally, I was supposed to perform all these songs live, but that proved a bit ambitious, considering I don't have a band to play with, and I had just recorded all the instruments myself. So, I decided to put up a website, here, instead.
What I ended up with was 14 songs, some good, some not so good, but all written in the spur of the moment, with as much passion and creativity as I could muster. I would challenge you to try your own 30 day music challenge and see where it takes you.
I'd love to hear of your own ideas for a 30 day project that you might like to tackle on your own. I'd love to hear from you if you like the music. I'd love to hear from you if you hate the music, but loved the idea. Heck, I'd just like to hear from you.
