Everyone is considered an artist.
We're all our own artist in our own way.
I tend to be known as a creative and unique individual who takes pride in everything I do. I identify art with an open mind, and a passionate eye. My love for art does not only include abstract painting but I also have an appreciation for photography, writing and interior design. Mostly, I concentrate on abstract painting. I prefer to use acrylics compared to oil or watercolors. My thoughts and inspirations combined with my brush create a fullness in my heart. There's so much beauty found in art from the vibrant colors to textures, but mostly in the meaning behind it all.
From my travels in Europe I've been fortunate of observing artwork first hand from multiple legendary artists. European artists such as Monet, Rembrandt, Van Gogh and Picasso are simply remarkable. I've been exposed to talented Canadian artists like The Group of Seven as well. I admire each and everyone one of these magnificent artists and hope to be remembered and not forgotten as well.
My next pieces will be challenging myself with 3-D abstract, collage, and pastels associated with abstract painting. My goal with my art is to leave an impression and to have my viewers pondering on my thoughts left on the canvass. There's a story behind each piece of detail. Today there are many challenges in becoming an artist however the only challenge is maintaining the drive.
In 2012, I will be studying Fine Arts at The College of Art and Design located in Toronto, Canada, or the University of Waterloo. I am optomistic on gaining a deeper understanding of the history of art, technique, theory, and mostly a memorable experience. I am truly grateful for all the support from my close friends and family through this period of my career.
Thank you!
Amanda Brenner is a local artist, whose passion arose from the crayon and into the realm of acrylic beauty! With a sketchpad in one hand and Crayola’s in the other, her knack for expressing that which could not otherwise be expressed was illuminated at an early age. Her current pieces reflect her life and the path she has been exploring, drawing influence from her broad experiences and those around her. With a passion for art came a love of languages, seeing Amanda learn both French and Spanish. These languages of romance heightened her artistic expression, bringing a righteous sense of passion into what would be her future art projects. Broadening her horizons she travelled to 8 countries in Europe, and then eventually lived in the Netherlands for a few months. A place of past dreams and various collections of art, from the Architecture to the work of legendary Dutch artists she fell into a rabbit hole with no return. It was the most memorable experience in her life thus far.
She moved back to Kitchener and in 2009 decided to move to Montreal for the summer. She was exposed to the extraordinary pieces of James Wilson Morrice and of course the French culture. Visiting many museums, and drawing off the inspiration of the life path she had taken, Amanda began where she had ended off and would now pursue the dream she now sees was fated to be. This was a moment of catharsis that has led to her current work. From sketching to painting, in 2010 she finally decided to follow her heart and be who she wanted to be not what everyone else wanted her to be! From then on her motivation began with her following her dream to one day see her works amongst the greats of the past. In 2012, she will be studying Fine Arts at the College of Art and Design in Toronto. She is currently volunteering at the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery and a member at the Waterloo Community Arts Centre. Until she attends university she will continue to have art shows and create and sell her paintings.
