About The Bolthole
Situated in the small attractive market town centre of Leyburn in the heart of Wensleydale, The Bolthole is a charming cottage dating back over 150 years and benefits from Four Star Visit Britain status.
The cottage offers superb accommodation, for all year round occupancy benefitting from gas central heating as well as wood burning stove. We are also happy to welcome two well behaved pets. Off-road parking is available outside the cottage and there is further parking available in the market square less than 100 yards away.
The Bolthole provides comfortable accomodation for the perfect holiday or short break. Recently refurbished it has retained a wealth of original features including exposed beams and trusses which are complimented by contemporary furnishings, particularly the king size brass bed from The Original Bedstead Company. Superbly positioned 100 yards from the market place which is surrounded by an excellent selection of shops, pubs and quality restaurants. From the market place, The Shawl is easily accessible, providing breathtaking views over the dale and surrounded by excellent footpath walks.
Accommodation costs start from £265.00 per week off peak to £410.00 per week in high season. Short breaks are also available subject to availability.
Leyburn is situated in Wensleydale on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is a thriving town which has its own open air market every Friday. Other local amenities include two supermarkets (open late), a variety of pubs and restaurants all within easy walking distance, a chemist and post office. These are complemented by coffee shops and gift shops.
It is the perfect base from which to explore Middleham, less than three miles away and home to over a dozen racing stables and The Forbidden Corner, a great day out for children of all ages!!!! . Yorkshire, Harrogate and Richmond are excellent choices for days out. Scarborough and Whitby on the East Coast are also only a couple of hours away by car.

An extensive selections of DVDs, CDs and games are also provided.
The kitchen is furnished with everything you could need if you decide to stay in and cook including a dining area comfortably seating four people, an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge with icebox, washer/dryer, coffee machine and sandwich maker. The original decor features Yorkshire flagstone floors and beamed ceilings.
The first floor features a spacious master bedroom with kingsize brass bed, feature fireplace, portable TV and extensive book library.
The second bedroom is accessed through the master bedroom and has full size adult bunk beds.
The shower room has a double power shower, WC, shaving point, wash basin and heated towel rail.
All bed linen and towels are provided within the weekly cottage rental charge.
Bookings are usually taken from Saturday to Saturday.
