Artist Bio and Statement: I explore the tension between precise line work against a broad open expression of glass color and form. I try to highlight interstitial space within the sandwich of cast layers of glass to create a sense of captured movement. I study opportunities offered in the fluid stage of glass at high heat. It creates for me a sense that the cooled piece becomes a relic of itself. Professional Background: Nina holds a Masters Degree in Architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Bachelor of Architecture from University of California Berkeley. She is a licensed Architect with built projects totaling over $30 million. Studios: Our main studio space is in the historic West Berkeley artist district housed in the vibrant collaborative ActivSpace building. Arch Street Studios is a Berkeley based business.
