Essential Comforts for an Active Vacation
All rooms at the Casa Tucan have a private bath, pillow top mattresses, air conditioning, hot water, ceiling fan, refrigerator, wet bar, room safe, and alarm clock radio. The Sunset Suites also have a microwave, couch, table and chairs for relaxing while reading a book.
To maintain a tranquil environment, there are no televisions or phones in the rooms. There is a television with direct TV and a phone in the bar area. International calls can be made by purchasing a phone card.

Casa Tucan offers a full service, poolside restaurant and bar, with vast breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus specializing in fresh fruit drinks, gourmet pizzas and fresh fish specials. It is an evening hotspot with occasional live music that maintains a quiet, low-key environment friendly to singles, couples and families. The staff is highly accommodating and can provide many items not listed on the regular menu for vegetarians or those with special dietary concerns.

Safari Surf School
The Hotel Casa Tucan has been the home of Safari Surf School since 1989. Our experienced instructors will not only teach you how to surf, they will also teach you ocean awareness, environmental awareness, basic pre-surf stretching exercises and, most importantly, safety.
All of your equipment will be supplied unless you prefer to bring your own. There are two (1) hour + surf lessons each day, one at approximately 7:30am and the afternoon lesson will be at approximately 3pm. Please note that lesson times may vary depending on wind and tide conditions. Safari Surf School folllow a maximum 3 students to 1 instructor ratio. (with the exception of large yoga retreats and corporate groups).

Safari Surf School will take digital photography stills and video of your surfing that will be used to teach you and also provide awesome memories! We like to have fun and share laughter while expressing our passion for teaching the art of surfing. No matter whether you return home and surf every day, or just on occasion, you will return with a fire for surfing and the surfing lifestyle.
AM LESSON - Rise and shine to the incredible sounds of Howler monkeys off in the distance, grab yourself some jungle java, or insane fresh fruit juice, dive into a freshly cut fruit platter or some granola and yogurt and check in with your instructor. After the morning fuel up, it's off to the beach we go. Roughly a 3 minute walk, this will get your blood flowing. Once at the beach we'll do some basic stretching, talk a little about the conditions and some oceanography 101 and off we go for our surf lesson.
After the a.m. lesson we'll head back to the hotel (or if you want to stay out and practice more you're more than welcome) and grab an awesome breakfast. After breakfast if you want to arrange any activities such as yoga, renting ATV's, a trip to the waterfalls etc., either Tyler or or one of our instructors will be happy to arrange them. Otherwise you're on your own to go and explore the town or hang out by the pool with a good book... whatever your pleasure!
PM LESSON - Between 3:30 and 4:00 p.m. your second lesson of the day is at hand. Everyone gathers for a few pointers, and we're off again. Once your lesson is completed, it's time to rinse off the day at the pool and get a liquid refreshment. You may decide to just hang out by the pool, or go back to the beach for an incredible Costa Rican sunset.
