sinopsis
La familia de Piotr Herroll, exiliada de Nacrovia, vive en Santiago de Chile. El joven Piotr es conminado a buscar trabajo. Un amigo le señala que el estado chileno subsidia a los artistas; concibe entonces una obra de teatro sobre la historia de su desconocido país. Esto conlleva varios problemas: deberá contar con actores chilenos, poco preocupados por el significado de su opus. Asimismo, su carta de ciudadanía es poco fiable. Y el problema del idioma resultará en una serie de confusiones que irán modificando la obra. Extraño artefacto del nuevo cine chileno, Piotr: Una mala traducción es la evolución natural de los cortometrajes de su realizador. Todos estos films están hablados en un idioma inventado, el nacrovés, sistema autosuficiente creado por Seeger y sus colaboradores. El uso continuo de subtítulos es incorporado a los juegos de la trama, haciendo de Piotr Herroll el héroe más impredecible del cine chileno, y del film una aguda comedia.
synopsis
Piotr Herrolls family had to leave Nacrovia and now lives in exile in Santiago de Chile. Young Piotr is sent to find work. A friend points him out that the Chilean State supports artists; so, he comes up with a play about the story of his unknown country. This carries several problems: he must have Chilean actors, who are less concerned about the meaning of his work. Also, his citizenship credentials are not very reliable. And the language barrier will result in a series of mix ups that will end altering the play. A strange artifact within Chilean cinema, Piotr: Una mala traducción is the result of the filmmakers natural evolution from his short films. All of them are spoken in a made up language, Nacrovese, a self-sufficient system created by Seeger and his collaborators. The continuing use of subtitles is incorporated into the plot games, making Piotr Herroll the most unpredictable chilean hero and the film into a sharp comedy about the essence of the Chilean self..
