Anthony has worked in several different aspects of the entertainment industry, including: theatre, feature films, shorts, low-budget, no-budget, student films, music videos, experimental and corporate events.

Most recently he appeared in the 48 Hour Film Project (Las Vegas) film Omertà. Omertà went on to win "Best Cinematography", "Best Sound Design" and was nominated for "Best Acting".

Anthony has also appeared in several films that have been screened across the country at many different film festivals including: You People , Astro-Zombies M3: Cloned , Malevolence & Nancy Boy . The LA Times called Nancy Boy "The most interesting of the short films" at the 2009 CineVegas Film Festival.

Even on stage Anthony has demonstrated versatility in that has included such diverse roles as the Empress THEODORA in Charles Busch's Theodora, She-Bitch of Byzantium ; the closeted TY WILLIAMSON in Del Shores' Sordid Lives ; the psychotic murderer JONATHAN BREWSTER in Joseph Kesselring's Arsenic and Old Lace and as the bartender TOM in Craig Lucas' Prelude to a Kiss .

Anthony dreams that one day he will get to play a zombie in a movie, that dreams of being an actor, who dreams of playing a zombie in a movie.

Article 1

Table 8 offers up holy rollers and she-bitches at midnight

Inspired by USAs Up All Night series, Table 8 brings bad television to live theater, courtesy of the Onyx. While this may seem like a dicey prospect, the competent direction and delivery combined with the midnight show time work in the companys favor.

Troy Heard directs both the film about a TV holy roller, The Book of Leviticus Show (shown on a screen), and the play that follows, Theodora: She-Bitch of Byzantium. I wanted to create something that has a midnight-movie aesthetic, Heard says, the perfect hour-long campy diversion. Campy or not, the juxtaposition seems to do the trick, and the casting helps.

Troy has chosen some of the most talented actors in town, says lead Anthony Avery.

Article 2

The 48-hour film fests defending champs show us how its done

The clouds gather ominously overhead as I circle a windowless building, deciding if Im in the right spot. After a frantic call, a guy shows, whispering that I should follow. I shadow him into the depths of what turns out to be Laguna Studios. Eventually I stumble into the worlds tiniest room, lit by a single lightbulb and filled with people. Among them: a menacing man, another bleeding from the ears and a third who shoots me a look like Im next.

Fortunately that look has more to do with the clouds. Hes planning to shoot in the desert, a circumstance that only has a little do with the guns in the next room. Jason Robertson is director of photography, and he informs me in an Australian accent that rain is not ideal for filmmaking.

The Movable Buffet: Dispatches from Las Vegas By Richard Abowitz

I went to the short-film festival over the weekend for a couple of reasons. Some of the films were made by locals; I was curious how they used Vegas. And, Vegas headliner Teller was staring in two shorts &Teller and & Teller2 which were book ends on the presentation of shorts. The most interesting of the short films, Nancy Boy, was shot here by a local but not set here. Directed by Jonpaul Lewis. It is three minutes of neo-Nazis, drug abuse and violence. At the party the next night I spoke to Lewis about the film: It is a love story, he insisted. And, indeed there is a kiss near the end. He is currently expanding the story into a feature-length script. That is what he is also doing with Jack the Ripper, a short he screened at a previous CineVegas. CineVegas changed my life, he said. Id been to a lot of other film festivals with that and everyone was very on guard. It was well received. It won awards. But in Vegas everyone was so relaxed, for Jack the Ripper, they were more open. I met the people I needed to meet. I made Nancy Boy as a thank you for the festival. It probably says something about Vegas that Lewis thank you can come in the form of clubs, skinheads, swastikas and syringes. But there is that kiss at the end. As for budget, the three minutes cost only $200. But there was not a moment that did not look real or that appeared cheap.
