National Finals
A Message From An Taisce
We went to the National Finals yesterday and had a great time. Thanks to everybody who helped our bank. Big thanks to Ms. Hayes and Ms. Whealan, and to David Scott who helped us set up An Taisce as part of the AIB Build A Bank Compeition. We had a great time throughout the year :) Unfortunatly we didn't place in the Finals, however we had an excellent time. Thanks for your support!

We are a school bank set up in Fingal Community College Swords, as part of the National Competiton launched by AIB called The Build A Bank Challenge 2011.In this competition we literally set up a banking service in our school. We can do almost everything that a bank could do for you, we just do it without the hassel of queuing. We are set up to provide a service for students and teachers of Fingal Community College, Swords only

The Uganda Team This group of students in third year will be travelling along with Ms. Scanlan to help the people of Uganda next year. They have kindly agreed to save for this trip through An Taisce. We encourage all students to support them with their very worthy cause.

An Taisce Goes Green!!! As a team, we decided that if we were going to build a bank in the school we should build one that is environmentally friendly :D We planted a tree outside in the school garden! We only used Recycled Paper! We photocopied back to back.! We recycled all of our waste paper! We used the internet to communicate with our customers rather than writing letters!

1. Where is my money kept after I lodge it into my bank account?An Taisce is set up as part of the AIB Build a Bank Competition, therefore when you open a bank account with An Taisce you are opening a bank account with AIB. So when you lodge money into your An Taisce bank account it is kept over in the official AIB Bank.2. Why do I need a Bank Account if I am only a teenager?If you get a part-time job or any job, if you want to get paid you'll need a bank account. Also this bank is in the school so if you want to put money into your account you don't even need to go to the AIB Branch you can just go to Room 27 at 1:00pm-1:40pm on a Wednesday3. Why do I need my passport/Photo ID and when do I get it back?As you are opening an official bank account with AIB , you legally need photo identification. (Don't worry about anybody seeing your passport photo). Any Passport/ID that has been handed in will be able for collection at 3:40 that same day in the office.4. Who are the bank team?
