A Candidate That You Can Trust
When I originally contemplated running for the Iowa House of Representatives, I knew that it would be a challenging task. But my family encouraged me throughout my decision to run, that the same hard work and desire that they had exhibited when moving to America is the reason that I would make a good legislator for the people of House District 21.
My family stuck by me throughout the campaign, which I never doubted would happen. However, I am amazed and appreciative of the outpouring of support from the voters of House District 21. November 2nd was a great day for me, as all of my hard work paid off and I have earned the trust of the people of my district.
I look forward to honoring that trust and again, I want to say thank you to all of those who supported my candidacy.
Thank You All So Much,
Anesa Kajtazovic
Unfortunately, we live in a day-and-age when too many candidates talk a
big game, making promises that they have no intention of keeping once they
become elected. That is not the type of leadership that Iowa needs. Sound-bite
politics might be good for TV, but not in the capital. We need thoughtful
leadership to come up with new and innovative ways to find 21st century
solutions to 21 century problems.
As the legislative session progresses, I will work hard to keep the constituents of House District 21 abreast of my votes and positions on various bills coming to the house floor.
In the meantime, if you have questions about a specific policy, please contact me via the "CONTACT ANESA" section of my website and I will get back to you with my stance.
FIGHTING FOR HARD-WORKING FAMILIES
"Shortly after moving to Waterloo, my mother was stricken with an ailment due to her job. When the condition was brought to the attention of her employer, she was forced to see the doctor that her employer dictated. Even after treatment, the employer-chosen physician failed to provide adequate care. My mother eventually had to undergo surgery. This is just one example of how the state is failing to stand up for working people. Stories like my mother's happen across this district everyday. I understand and believe whole-heartedly that we need to ensure that our state legislature never stops fighting for working people."
ENSURING A QUALITY EDUCATION
FOR EVERY IOWA CHILD
"We must ensure that we address our changing classrooms with new, innovative approaches. We cannot afford to use the same policies while educating a changing student population. I look forward to working with parents, education professionals and the Legislature in Des Moines to address our education system. I will fight for solutions in education by supporting our educators and the children they teach."
KEEPING IOWA "THE LAND OF OPPORTUNITY"
"I have experienced firsthand the life of someone new to the community, the struggles they face and the opportunities that exist. I believe that we are at a crossroads in Iowa and at risk of losing those opportunities. We need a vision for Iowa that moves us ahead in the areas of quality job creation and economic development. I will be a fierce advocate for Waterloo and seek to attract new jobs to our area.
