1. The Paperwork
The SVA has a set requirement for paperwork which can feel quite demanding. We will take care of this all the way thru to you recieving your UK V5.
We have been importing SVA Required Vehciles from JAPAN for the past 7 years now and have aquired alot of valuable experience in what goes and what doesnt with regards to the SVA. Our vehicles allways pass 1st time and we are expert with the most up to date requirements to get your car through mandatory SVA Type Approval testing super quick and at minimum cost.
SVA (which has now become IVA from 2009) is required on all vehicles importeted from Japan which at the time of UK registration are less than 10 years old, currently than means that all 2001 and younger cars imported including most of the DC5's and of course the FD2's require a IVA to become road legal.
This is not a simple process and requires new headlights at the time of the test as well as a deadly accurate mph speedo conversion, a UK spec Fog light fitted, a suitable thatcham approved Category 1 Alarm with the correct Paperwork/certificate as well as a whole host of other criteria.

The SVA is very strict. we will make sure your car is 100% to the required standard for a quick and easy pass....
3. VOSA Testing
The SVA is a 2+ Hr Test designed to evaluate all build aspects of the Import and compare against UK regulations. We must acompany the vehicle at all times and actively assist in the test.

The much anticipated all New CIVC TYPE R was made for sale in the JDM market back in March 2007.
The JDM market hadnt seen a new civic since the Ek9 so this really was a huge change, 1stly the Size. The FD2 is a large 4 door Saloon, apparantly giving 50% more ridgity for better cornering and handling -this showed round the famous Suzuka Circuit in Japan where the FD2 was a clear 4 seconds faster than the 2006 Honda Integra DC5.
Producing 220bhp and only 2kg heavier than the DC5 the FD2 is vicious on VTEC.
In 2008 Honda opened their doors to Mugen to produce a limited run of 300 RED RR badged 240bhp FD2's, lots of small changes included aliminium panels, carbon underside, carbon backed racing seats, larger brakes, reworked Ecu, manifold and camshafts and a twin exit mugen exhuast for more power. As far as we know only 1 Mugen RR was ever brought to the UK. It now resides with a local enthusiast to us, Sold by 200bhpcars in 2009.

Launched in the Summer of 2001 the DC5 is now 10yrs old but still demands repsect as the most sought after Type R.
Not available in any form in the European Market, the DC5 Chassis is truely JDM Styling and engineering at its best. Its more powerful, lighter, better styled and more equipped than the European EP3, Boasting a Higer tuned K20 VTEC 2.0 engine , producing 220bhp (20bhp more than the EP3) and A LSD mated with a 6 speed box ensured the DC5 inherited its legacy from the DC2 as the best front wheel drive n/a car available. In Sept 2004 Honda introduced the FACELIFT DC5, with a restyled front bumper with intergrated front lip and smooth light and differently styled rear bumper.

Honda UK developed the very well recieved EP3 Chassis for the UK market, the success was phenomenal and the EP3 was the best selling Type R ever. Honda Japan never made there own 2001 Civic Type R to take over from the EK9 but they did request a number of UK EP3 chassis's to make there own JDM version.
Badged with a Union Jack emblem next the Civic Badge for the amusemnent of the Japanese Domestic Market , the JDM EP3
retained the highly renowned helical LSD similar to that of the EK9 and indivdual red Recaro race-seats. Other differences included a more track-oriented chassis/undercarriage settings as compared to the EDM, as well as a 215 PS (158 kW; 212 hp) i-VTEC engine (K20A) with different intake manifold,exhaust,camshafts and ECU programming. The JDM EP3 was also available in the traditional Type R championship white while the EDM was not. The EDM has more relaxed gear ratios and some high rpm horse power traded for low rpm torque compared to the JDM .

The Legendary EK9 Chasis was Honda's First Type R Badged Civic and what an impact is made back in 1997. Following on 1992-1996 manufactured Civic SIRII, the EK9 used the same B series 1.6l engine but the New High compression Head on the B16B produced an additional 17 BHP and thus a lengend was born. LSD was fitted as standard, Recaro Front Seats, just like the DC2 Type R and suspension revisions over the SIR. In 2000 the RX model was release with mostly asthetic updates, most notable the distinctive front bumper.

The JDM DC2 was introduced in 1996 and was an instant legend. Described by many as the ultimate FWD Driving Machine. The JDM ITR was equipped with a B18c engine with 200bhp as standard, LSD, Recaro Seats and the now famous Championship white Paintwork. Prior to the NSX, this was the 1st Production Type R available. Now 15 years old it is still classed as one of the best FWD cars around. In 1998 Honda Japan released the 98-Spec Model with facelift changes to the Rear bumper, HID lights and some suspension Changes. Finally the RX Model was released in 2000 with some further minor updates.
The 1992-1996 SIRII Civic Used the Same B16A Series Engine as the 1990 EF8 CRX and the EF9 SIRI but power crept up to 170bhp which in the light chassis of the EG6 made for a 90's Pocket Rocket. Most cars were equipped with a LSD as standard but lacked the Sports style interior of the CRX and the later Civic Type R's. There was a SIR-S model with further upgrades but they are very rare to find. Prices in Japan remain Keen for the old SIR's as they represent true JDM classics.

The Classic 1989 JDM VTEC CRX, only recently replaced by the new 2011 Hybrid CR-X - was the flagship for the modern VTEC B Series engine that went on to power the EG6, EK9 and DC2 Type R's.
Producing a massive 160bhp from just a little more than a 1000kg, the CRX flies and handles like a go kart.
Finding a decent rust free UK one is almost an imposibility, we can import these to order but beware.... The Japanese love there CRX's and thus the prices can get quite steep for the lower mileage high grade examples. Still if you want a peice of JDM VTEC history, the CRX is it!!
