Ananda is also one of Tokyo's top foreign actresses!
Ananda graduated at age 21 from the University of Southern California, Magna cum Laude, with a BA in Psychology and and a BA in Music. While at university, Ananda was a member of at least 12 academic honor societies, and was a Renaissance Scholar, an Engineering Merit Research Scholar, and executive producer and composer for the Experimental Music Showcase. Having written theses on the evolutionary functionality of dreams, timbre in musical perception, and electroencephalography patterns in criminal minds, Ananda was invited with full scholarships to pursue doctoral degrees in cognitive neuroscience at UCLA, Northwestern, Cornell, and the University of Maryland in 2005.
However, she instead moved to Tokyo and built a successful career as a model and media talent, becoming one of the most frequently hired foreign models in Japan.

She has appeared in hundreds of campaigns for electronic, beauty, and fashion brands. In 2008 her face was seen on the Coca-Cola vending machines all over Japan. She has been in the magazines Russh, Zexy, Rolling Stone Japan, Snip, Goggle, and SO-EN, and catalogues for Betsey Johnson, Nikon, Roland, Paris Miki, Fuji Film, and Honda. Ananda was featured in TV commercials for Fresh-Up, JinRo, ECC, Nishin, McDonalds, Domino Pizza, and Softbank. She appears weekly in over 50 episodes of the nationally broadcast TV program "Corpus 100! de Eikaiwa" (NHK), and has made frequent appearances on "Koi no Karasawagi" (Nihon TV). She has also appeared on episodes of "Hanamaru Market" (TBS), "Pussuma" (TV Asahi), and "Shikatte! Blonde Sensei" (TBS), as well as dozens of other programs. Ananda has performed as an actress or dancer in over 20 music videos for acts such as L'arc~en~Ciel, Crystal Kay, Garnet Crow, V6, Leah Dizon, Bonnie Pink, Tohoshinki, Crazy Ken Band and Dream Theater, and was the singer/lyricist for the Baila Fashion Magazine TV commercials. She was the character model for "Mina" in the Nintendo DS game "Wish Room 2." In 2008 Ananda acted in her first Japanese film, Takashi Shimizu's short movie "Uranai Tamae" (from the feature film "Hijoshi Zukan"), co-starring as "Catherine."

In 2009 Ananda began to focus again on music. With a background in clarinet, saxophone, keyboards and music composition, and armed with her performing experiences in Tokyo, she began producing, arranging, and recording original music compositions, as well as collaborating with other Japanese and international artists as a singer, songwriter, and producer. Her lyrics are often based on her sense of the surreal and the sometimes tragic or mysterious landscapes she sees in dreams. Most compositions are developed at home using Logic Studio, a Nord Lead 3 keyboard, and a microphone. She further records and mixes her tracks at studios in Tokyo. By 2010 she plans to release her first album, including tracks sung both in English and in Japanese.

Ananda is a composer/singer of Dream Pop/Folktronica music. She programs instrumental tracks, writes lyrics, and sings on original compositions, occasionally remaking classic oldies tunes. Her music has been described as "ethereal," "melancholy," and "haunting," evoking the likes of Goldfrapp, The Cardigans, and Portishead. Ananda invites listeners into her distinct world of dark electronic trip-pop.
