Finding a videographer for your wedding should be just as important as finding a photographer. Nothing can bring back your special day better than video.
Many couples are reporting that their video has become their most priceless keepsake, even more so than their photographs. Many people are beginning to realize that so many wedding expenses are for things that are consumed or forgotten in a matter of hours. The video will be there forever!
- This is not just a job to me. Wedding videography is my passion! Each wedding is so special and unique. I consider it an honor to be able to witness every single one I attend.
- I'm friendly, personable, professional, reliable, and not just punctual - but ALWAYS early, easy to work with, and a great listener.
- Ever since I was young, I've always been an incredibly artistic person. Aside from film, I enjoy photography, web design, music, theater, drawing, painting, dance, and more.
- I use top-of-the-line equipment and award-winning editing software.
- My vision and creative style are very modern. I will never use any cheesy effects or make your video look like it was made over ten years ago. I'm constantly learning new things and keeping up with what's in. I think some videographers that have years and years of experience tend to fall towards the old-fashioned look because it's comfortable to them; it's what they're used to.
- My prices are modest and competitive. I do not feel the need to over charge just because I can.
- I'm a little younger than the guys that have been doing videography for 10+ years, so I have more energy. I'll be on top of every special moment when it happens, and I won't get tired of being on my feet all day and need to sit down.
- Being a woman videographer means that I have a real eye for capturing those romantic glances and emotions that a man might not naturally pick up on. And, if you're a bride wanting footage of yourself getting ready the morning of your wedding, you'll most likely be more comfortable having a woman film you than a man.
- What you see is what you get. All of my demos are my own work, not work from a bunch of different videographers. You meet with me, discuss your video ideas and wants with me, and I am the one who films your wedding day - unlike many businesses that send one of their many employees out to film your wedding with only a faint idea of who you are and what kind of video you are hoping for.
- Your complete satisfaction is my number one goal! I will work my hardest to make sure that you LOVE your wedding video and want to tell all of your friends about Kismet Video Productions!

How important is a professionally-produced wedding video?
Suppose a friend told you they had in one hand a book of professional photos of the day your grandparents were married, and in their other hand a professionally-produced video of that same day, in full color, with stereo sound, but that you could only choose one to view and keep as a family heirloom. Which would you choose?
Only video will allow everyone to relive your wedding day as it actually happened... to see you walk down the aisle, hear your voices as you exchange vows and rings, hear and see the toasts, the laughs, the music, your first dance... and the chance to preserve the complete story of your wedding. This wasn't possible in the past.
Why shouldn't I just have my friend do it for free?
I can't emphasize enough what a huge difference there is between home video and a professionally produced video. Your friend or relative may have great intentions, but it's unlikely they have the equipment (professional cameras, lights, wireless microphones, editing gear....) that a professional has. It's also unlikely they have the expertise or experience to produce a great video. Also, do they have the stamina or readiness to be on top of all the especially important moments? To make great video, you must be meticulously aware of the best angles and experienced enough to anticipate the best moments. Your wedding story is simply too important to leave to chance.
What does Kismet mean?
Kismet is Turkish for fate, destiny, and fortune.
How far will you travel?
I will travel to cities such as Joliet, Naperville, Orland Park, Bradly/Bourbonnais, Dwight, Morris, and cities in between.
Depending on distance, I may charge a small traveling fee.
What kind of camera do you use?
I use a professional, 3-chip, high definition (HD), Sony digital camcorder.
Is your style more Documentary or Cinematic?
My style is a combination of both. I will discuss with you which style you would like during specific moments throughout the Ceremony and Reception (such as the cake cutting and dancing).
Will you attend the Rehearsal?
Yes, this helps me determine where to position myself during the actual ceremony.
How will you be dressed at our wedding?
I will be appropriately dressed in business-casual attire, most likely in black so as not to stand out.
Do I choose the music for our video?
Yes. However, if your choices don't flow quite well with the video, I may offer some different songs as suggestions.
How long will you take to finish our video?
Videos will take anywhere between 4-8 weeks to complete.
How long is our finished video?
Typically, finished videos will last about 45-120 minutes.
What's the difference between unauthored and authored DVDs?
Unauthored DVDs will play like VHS tapes; you start at the beginning and play through the video.
Authored DVDs (which are what I provide) have customized menus and chapter selections.
When is the payment due?
The non-refundable $200 deposit is due when you save your date and fill out the agreement.
The total balance (minus the deposit) will be due 2 weeks prior to the wedding.
“I could not have found a better videographer in Amy Royer. Her work is outstanding and ranks in the top videographers in the Chicagoland area. She offers many packages and her prices are well below what one would expect for the exceptional quality. She had truly wonderful ideas for our reception and her vision was perfect for what we were looking for. She listened to everything we wanted and made sure her work was exactly what we envisioned. Her efforts to ensure we were satisfied with the final product were top of the line. Amy is a very caring person and she helped us feel like we were one of her friends and that our reception was just as important as if it were her own.
Amy was also a tremendous help at the reception. She quietly stood by and made sure she got all the shots we discussed but amazingly assisted with directing the timeline of events from the beginning through the end of the night. She somehow knew when something or someone was needed and made sure the night went according to our plan.
I really don’t know what I would have done without Amy. Her caring demeanor, bubbly personality and her passion for making sure our wedding video was everything we hoped it would be went above and beyond what anyone would expect. I personally cannot thank her enough for making our day one we will always cherish with the memories she made come to life in her wedding video and photo montages.”

"Amy was an AMAZING videographer!!! I couldn't of found a better person to record my wedding! When i was planning my wedding I looked everywhere for videographers and they were all SO high in price, then I came across kismet video productions!! I went on the web site looked at the prices and it was unbelieveable I had to call and speak with Amy herself!!! They had SO much to offer for cheap!! Then you begin to think why are they so cheap and others are ridiculously expensive maybe the work is different?!? So Amy sent me some demos of other weddings she has done and it was AMAZING! I hired her right then!! She took so much time on meeting with me plenty of times before my actual wedding that the day of the wedding I felt like she was just one of my friends!!! Most people you don't know you feel uncomfortable in front of especially filming, not Amy she is fun and is so outgoing!! Kismet Video Productions definitly deserved a 5 star rating! I would recommend them for anything!"

"Amy did a great job filming a private party for our family. My mother was celebrating her 70th birthday and we had family from all over the state in town for the event.
Amy caught everything and did it very inconspicuously. In addition, she set up extra interviews and shots to help make the final video so much better.
The end product was truly excellent, combining everything from the night and making it something that my mom calls "her second wedding".
My mom constantly watches the DVD, which was delivered to us very quickly, and it will be something that we have in our family for a long time.
No one should hesitate to hire Kismet for their event, big or small."

"Amy was our videographer this past October for our wedding at Starved Rock. She did an amazing job. She has a wonderful personality so it is very easy to be yourself around her while she is shooting. Amy is professional, caring, prompt, and hardworking. She came early and stayed later than agreed to, for our wedding, which was amazing because she was truly able to capture the day in its entirety. Our video was finished earlier then expected and was done to perfection. It was better then we ever could have dreamed. Thanks to Amy we were able to re-live our wedding day and also see things that we missed or do not remember. I highly recommend Kismet Video Productions, Amy was truly exceptional. We will cherish this video forever, and would recommend her company and services to anyone."

Dear Amy,
Tammy and I absolutely love the job you've done capturing, editing, and completing the dvd of our wedding! Thank you for talking back and forth with us to make sure everything was perfect. You were very professional and we've already begun recommending you to friends! Everyone loves the way it all turned out. My mom started tearing up all over again! As we grow older, we know that we will not only have pictures to remind us of it, but we also have a professional quality video to watch over and over again, thanks to you. We can tell you truly love what you do. Once again, thank you so much!
Sincerely,
Erik and Tammy
