Amy Jo has been formally coaching dialects, speeches and sonnets since 2004, when she was chosen by the Voice & Speech faculty at The Boston Conservatory to serve as a Teaching Assistant. During that time, she taught a number of freshmen through junior level classes, primarily focusing on Shakespeare, and assisted her fellow students with accents for classes and shows. Since then, she has worked with many pupils privately in addition to being hired as the dialect consultant/coach on various productions. She is now offering small group classes in monologues, Shakespeare, phonetics/IPA, and dialects.
These are my favorite links for do-it-yourself dialect research.
IDEA: The International Dialects of English Archive
This is simply the BEST and most comprehensive website for finding audio files of primary speakers.
YouTube: This is your best friend. Search for interviews, tourism videos, performance clips, and notable people of the region you're working on.
Speech Accent Archive: Similar to IDEA. Fewer samples, but very helpful with idiosyncratic speech patterns if you can read IPA.
