One Mans Answer to President Obamas Call to Action:
100 New Businesses in the First 100 Days
COLUMBUS, OHIO - In his Inaugural Address, President Barack Obama told the nation that the state of our economy calls for bold and swift action. His American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan proposes to invest in projects that will create jobs and require the products and services of many small businesses and individuals.
In answer to President Obama's call for action, Moses Law and the Central Ohio Minority Business Association (COMBA) teamed up to introduce their own economic stimulus plan to promote and increase the development of more small businesses.
100 Businesses in 100 Days is a plan to help jumpstart the economy by assisting the creation and development of 100 new businesses and nonprofit organizations within the first 100 days of the Obama Administration.
"We will get businesses set up properly and increase their chances for success by building more viable and sound operations," says Ambrose Moses, III, founder of Moses Law, a Columbus-based firm specializing in business law. Professionals provide advice, counsel, and guidance that you just can't get from a book or a website.
Some of the services to be offered as part of the Plan are:
•Business education and training by professionals
•Legal assistance establishing an LLC or corporation
•Legal assistance completing organizational documents
•Legal and consulting assistance with applications for MBE/WBE/EDGE certification
"As people lose their jobs, they must find other ways to generate income, says Moses. This is especially true when there are fewer jobs out there to replace the ones they lost. So, many will return to our American roots of business ownership, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
Entrepreneurship has been a major element of our economy and it's going to be a major element of our economic recovery, he says. Since the Inauguration, 16 businesses and nonprofit organizations have responded to the Plan.
Moses was among the 2 million people in Washington, D.C. to witness the historic occasion. He was moved by the tremendous showing of support for the new President by Americans and others from all walks of life. Moses, like others, was filled with hope for a rebirth and renewal of the enduring American spirit -- the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness. He agrees with President Obamas declaration that America must, and will, meet the challenges we face.
