SUNDAY, AUG 23: Fly into Las Vegas. Travel via Motorhome to Springdale, Utah, right outside Zion National Park. Scenic hike to an overlook of Zion. MONDAY, AUG 24: An introduction to canyoneering ensues as we hike Orderville Canyon, an extraordinary canyon than leads us to the famous Virgin Narrows, rated the number 5 trek in the world by National Geographic. TUESDAY, AUG 25: A day of hands-on skill building with Zion Adventure Company (ZAC). On this day, participants will learn how to set up and execute the perfect rappel, beginning with an understanding and evaluation of the gear, including harness, carabiners, piranha, ropes, webbing, ascenders and more. We then head to Keyhole Canyon, a fun slot with lots of tight places and short rappels. WEDNESDAY, AUG 25: A day in The Subway, an extraordinary technical canyon with rappels, swimming holes, tight narrows, and more. One of the most incredible one day adventures to be had in the Southwest. THURSDAY, AUG 26: Zion Adventure Company takes us to Birch Hollow, where we learn advanced canyoneering skills Participants will study how to evaluate bolts and anchors, both natural and man-made. They will also learn how to tie various knots, such as the figure eight, double fisherman's, clove hitch, and more. Finally, they will perform multiple single and double rope rappels and ascents under the watchful eye of the guides. FRIDAY: Return home
