About Do you wish you had the opportunity to dance?
Amici was founded by Amy Ireland B A Hons at the start of 2010. The lack of availabilty for open dance classes for dancers in and around her local area inspired Amy to design classes especially for dancers/ex-dancers. A place to maintain and develop their training or dance classes simply for fun!
Amy hopes to share all the styles she has herself accumilated over 25 years of training, giving dancers an opportunity they perhaps thought was no longer available.
Amici NOW offers Beginner classes for adults in ballet and tap!
In the development of dance availability for adult dancers looking for professional opportunities, Amici is launching its Professional Development scheme 'Stride' where graduates can use Amici to build their profiles.
Amici will also be welcoming other dance teachers and artists providing a variety of workshops in a variety of styles.

Breakdown Stride
Amici is launching its new and exciting Professional Development scheme in Autumn 2011. 'Stride' will provide promising artists, choreographers and teachers an opportunity to teach in order to gain experience and add to their journey as an artist. For many graduates, breaking out into the world of dance can be daunting! Finding a direction can sometimes take longer than expected and with so much on offer in Hampshire and surrounding areas, making a breakthrough is not easy.
Amici supports up and coming new talent in the South and 'Stride' is that support. If you are looking for teaching opportunities either through workshops, training classes or choreographically in any genre of dance, Amici welcomes you to STRIDE!
Trish Harris took on STRIDE this November leading Beginners Contemporary classes. We are happy to announce Trish will be leading further contemporary classes in 2012!

Workshops 
Danceology body conditioning
Dance-ology is a conditioning class designed to prepare the body for the high demands of the dancing world (in all aspects of dance) that sometimes get missed or not repeated enough. A step towards college-most dance colleges around the UK have now made Pilates compulsory in the dance diploma or degree. Dance-ology will cater from the age of 4 to 80 years.
Improve your dancing ability in strength, flexibility, coordination, posture and knowledge of your own bodys limitations and weaknesses.

Burlesque! FREE workshop
We are proud to welcome back Veronique Devine, burlesque veteran, performer, mentor, teacher and compeer from Veronique Devine and the Vixens!
Amici is offering this FREE workshop to coincide with the New Theatre Royal's The Lost Hour event this Spring. Following this workshop, some of Amici's dancers will be performing a special piece created for this event by Amy Ireland.
The workshop will recap the basic components of Burlesque, classic burlesque moves developing things one step further with the use of props.
The prop used here will be the chair....so very Sally Bowles!
All in good fun. Good for body confidence, keeping fit and for having a giggle!

Lindy Hop is a Jazz partner dance also known as Jitterbug or Swing Dancing originating in Harlem USA in the 1920's and 1930's and now thriving in the UK and around the world!
