About:
We're a doom-crust punk band from Chicago, and one of the original Taqwacore bands from the Taqwatour in the fall of 2007. Our sound is not your run-of-the-mill hardcore sound, as we mix elements of traditional Middle Eastern music instrumentation; heavy, sludgy, crust punk; and experimental music influences. Our music incorporates rhythmical, theoretical, ideological, and structural hybrids of these various types of music...to create something new. We're glad to meet you.

"Who Benefits from War?" -- 2008--CD/Mp3
Our debut full-length, released on May Day 2008, is the beginning of our own brand of infused punk. The cd combines elements of Middle Eastern instrumentation and experimental music influences all on a foundation of sludgy crust-punk.
One listener at Amazon.com said:
"...There is such a wide variety of sound coming from this band. Some songs are heavy and powerful with driving drums. The bass/guitars feels like a freight train and the singer screams as though you tried to steal his microphone. Then there are songs like Taqism/improvisation which bring in whole new elements, with acoustic guitar, hand drumming, and a melodic, almost tribal feel which is extremely relaxing..."
We didn't include a lyrics sheet in this release, but since so many of you have been asking, we'd be glad to e-mail one to you.

"Wasteland" -- 2008--CD/free mp3
Collaboration w/ Winters in Osaka
For co-conspirators on our first collaborative effort, we looked no further than stalwarts of the local, chicago, experimental scene, Winters in Osaka.
This limited-run collaboration was recorded as a one-take jam session in a sweaty, stuffy basement on chicago's northwest side. the result was a fairly lo-fi, thirty-minute, drony, sound-collage that wandered somewhere in-between harsh-noise, doom, sludge, and industrial.
As this is currently out-of-print, it is now available as a free mp3 download on our page at last.fm.

After the Lowercase Collective show, Mario and Marwan grab a beer and a quick breath of not-so-fresh air.
Making last preparations before a super-late night show at local Chicago station, WZRD.
We're not sure if anyone actually listened, but for 1 am, Mario played like they did.
