Colonal Karl Adler's short service in the United States Army has been recognized by his superior officers as one filled with devotion to duty, a love for the men he leads, and remarkable intrepidity and bravery. General Adler is the recipient of The Distinguished Service Cross; awarded to him for his gallantry under fire as a United States Army helicopter pilot in the Republic of South Vietnam. The Distinguished Service Cross is this country's second highest military decoration. The Purple Heart Medal was also awarded to General Adler for being wounded while in action against the enemy. These awards are testament to the sort of individual that Karl Adler is; but there is a lot more to describe the caliber of this warrior; friend and foe alike holds deep respect for this most unusual fighting man.
