Welcome to my webite where I will update you with some information about me, my first 12 months as a Borough Councillor and regular updates on news for Ifield and my activities on the council.
Biography:
My name is Alison Burke and I am one of the 3 ward councillors for Ifield on Crawley Borough Council.
My family moved to Ifield back in 1982 from south London and I attended the former Ifield Comprehensive School in Lady Margaret Road.
I decided to stand as a candidate for Ifield so that I could have the opportunity to give something back to the community where I grew up and where my parents still live. I enjoyed growing up in Ifield and loved the sense of community that was very evident throughout my youth.
I feel very humbled by the faith that the residents of Ifield have placed in me so that I can represent your views and concerns on the council. I have been granted a further honour this year as I am also now Mayoress of Crawley - even if it is by default as it is my husband Lee - who is also a Councillor - that was elected Mayor in May 2010!
