The Colin MacDonald Cancer Foundation raises funds to help with the research and the reality of cancer.
100 % of all proceeds will go directly to cancer research and assisting families struggling with cancer.
We have designated prostate cancer to be the 2010 focus. This year all proceeds will go towards funding a prostate cancer research grant by the American Institute For Cancer Research, and to a family who is dealing with the hardships of prostate cancer.
The Colin MacDonald Cancer Foundation chose the thistle as their logo, as not only is it the Scottish National emblem, it is also a symbol of pride, tenacity and toughness in the face of great hardship and long odds.
The thistle also represents enduring love and courage.
All these are character traits that made Colin MacDonald the man he was, and what he is remembered for today.
Colin was one of those ‘Special People,’ who, if you are lucky, may cross your path, maybe once in a lifetime.
Colin loved three things:
He adored his best friend and wife of 42 years, Wendy; His three sons: John Charles, Kenneth and Stuart, their spouses, and of course his seven beautiful little granddaughters…Colin’s Girls we called them.
He loved his Company, JBT Airport Systems, his associates and the people he worked with in the Airport Services Industry,
and he loved the game of golf. He learned as a boy growing up in Rhodesia, played competitively during his scholastic years, and of course after he came to America over 30 years ago. Colin played golf all over the world, and played it very well.
Colin had a keen wit, a great mind, and he approached life with a very positive attitude, always excited about the next adventure.
Colin died of prostate cancer on November 26, 2008. He dealt with his condition the same way he did life…With great dignity, class and “TENACITY AND TOUGHNESS IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY”.. The same way he approached the game of golf… ”Don’t wink at it…Hit it with Authority!”
