ABOUT
I graduated from the Photo Imaging program at Canyon del Oro High School in Tucson, Arizona where I helped manage the school's art gallery, The Noble Street Gallery, and its peripheries and acted as one of its historians. I am currently attending the University of Arizona Honors College, majoring in the Pre-Architecture program of studies.I take photos of architectural details in black and white. I like the straight lines and interesting angles of radical and modern buildings and structures. I will crop to the smallest, most seemingly insignificant aspects of a structure to draw attention to something I find interesting. I also like to rotate and flip my images to keep viewers off-balance and guessing.I also take color photographs. I work in a documentary style once again focusing on the typically unseen, seaching out looked over landscapes and vignettes and their strange, yet beautiful and bold color schemes, melding them together to create compositions of past decades' modalities.I work with instant mediums, toy cameras, 6x7 and 35mm film SLRs to supplement my digital work. I like working with the imperfections of the instant photography and plastic cameras as well as the high quality provided by larger formats and glass that was made to last.Feel free to browse my portfolio and leave comments by way of the contact form on the last page.Alex
