Alberto Sabino nasceu em Belo Horizonte, no dia 2 de julho de 1952, mudando-se para o Rio de Janeiro aos quatro anos. Morou em Düsseldorf, München, Cascais, São Paulo e New York.
Alberto Sabino, born on July 2, 1952 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, moved to Rio de Janeiro shortly after his birth, and has lived in Düsseldorf, München, Cascais, São Paulo and New York.
Formou-se em Economia, com pós graduação.
He obtained a postgraduate degree in Economics.
Em 1980 Sabino trabalhava no Chase Manhattan Bank, no Rio de Janeiro, quando decidiu mudar-se para a Alemanha, período em que viajou por toda a Europa, da Grécia à Noruega, conhecendo novas culturas e paisagens. Estas viagens seriam fonte de inspiração pra suas futuras criações.
In 1980, Sabino was working at the Chase Manhattan Bank, in Rio de Janeiro, when he decided to move to Germany, travelling throughout Europe, from Greece to Norway, to experience different cultures and landscapes. These travels would later provide sources for inspiration to his designs.
Depois de um tempo morando na Europa, Alberto Sabino voltou para o Rio de Janeiro, iniciando um negócio com a família. Gilberto Braga, importante autor de novelas, escreveu "Brilhante", uma história sobre uma designer de bijoux e jóias, Luisa, interpretada por Vera Fischer. Luisa tinha uma sócia e Alberto Sabino costumava ir para os estúdios da Rede Globo, ainda na Usina, para orientar Vera Fischer e ajudar na composição do cenário de seu atelier.
After some time living in Europe, Alberto Sabino went back to Rio de Janeiro to start a fashion jewelry business with his family. The important Brazilian soap opera writer, Gilberto Braga, wrote "Brilhante", a story about a jewelry designer, Luisa, played by Vera Fischer. Luisa had a partner, and Alberto Sabino used to go to Rede Globo Studios at Usina, to teach Vera Fischer about jewelry and to build the set for Luisa's atelier.
As coleções de Sabino foram apresentadas em desfiles no Rio de Janeiro e vendidas em várias partes do País e do exterior. No início dos anos 90 mudou-se para a Europa, para viver com Tania, mulher muito importante em sua vida, e de onde poderia conquistar novos mercados, a partir de Portugal. A distância não ajudou a melhorar o relacionamento com os sócios familiares. Tania queria que alugassem uma Quinta , em Sintra, onde Sabino começaria uma nova vida como escritor. Infelizmente as anotações da época se perderam, assim como o tempo disponível para voltar a escrever, mas Sabino tem o que contar e sabe como fazê-lo. Uma questão de tempo?
Sabino's collections were presented at official fashion shows in Rio de Janeiro and sold all over the country and abroad. In the beginning of the 1990s, he decided to move to Europe to try a new market for the business, living in Portugal with his beloved Tania. The distance didn't help to improve the relationship with the partners. Tania wanted Alberto to rent a Quinta in Sintra and begin a new life as a writer (what will happen sooner or later).
Finalmente decidiram-se por morar em Cascais, viajando com frequência. Foi quando Alberto Sabino fez sua primeira viagem ao Oriente: China e Hong-Kong, Cingapura, Tailândia, Bali e outros países. Os sinais para um novo designer começaram a se fortalecer. Viviam cercados pela Beleza, não apenas da natureza, mas também dos belos hotéis em que viviam, como Cipriani em Veneza, Villa Principe Leopoldo em Lugano, muitos pequenos Relais e Chateaux na França, o Four Seasons de Milão e tantos outros belos lugares. Uma lista longa e expressiva, inesquecível.
They finally decided to live in Cascais and started to travel very often. By that time Alberto Sabino made his first trip to the Orient: China and Hong-Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Bali and other countries. The signs to a renewed jewelry designer started to grow. They lived surrounded by beauty, not only nature, but also nice hotels like Cipriani in Venice, Villa Principe Leopoldo in Lugano, Hotel d'Inghilterra in Rome, many small and charming "Relais et Châteaux" in France, The Four Seasons, in Milan. A long and expressive list.
O "conto de fadas" não era tão perfeito, no entanto, e Sabino decidiu voltar para o Brasil, onde iniciou o design de peças com sua própria marca. Em 1996 houve o primeiro desfile de Alberto Sabino, quando sua Coleção foi apresentada oficialmente à Imprensa, começando uma nova fase para o designer.
This "fairy tale" was not so perfect, though, and Sabino decided do go back to Brazil, where he started to design pieces for his own brand. In 1996 the first Official Alberto Sabino Collection was introduced to the press, beginning a new era for the designer.

Suas peças são usadas por celebridades, socialites e mulheres de bom gosto, como Carmen Mayrink Veiga e Kim Cattral, de Sex and the City. É convidado para leiloar suas peças em benefício de instituições sociais e culturais, no Brasil e no exterior, como os convites para o Leilão de Gala na inauguração do Queen Mary 2, em benefício do Miami City Ballet e New World Symphony Orchestra, e muitas instituições brasileiras, como o Ambulatório da Praia do Pinto, em seu almoço beneficiente anual , no Copacabana Palace, Rio de Janeiro.
Alberto Sabino is a well-known jewelry designer, specializing in exclusive accessories and fine fantasy jewelry, from necklaces and bracelets to rings and other accessories. His jewelry has been used by famous celebrities and socialites, including Carmen Mayrink Veiga and Kim Cattrall, from Sex and the City. His pieces have been invited for auctions in benefit of social and cultural organizations, such as the Miami City Ballet and New World Symphony Orchestra, at the Gala Auction, on the Queen Mary 2, and many Brazilian institutions, like "Ambulatorio da Praia do Pinto, in the annual benefit lunch, at the Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro.
