The club was formed in 1929 by a group of hunters, fishers and conservationists. Since its founding the club has expanded its role and offers its services to the community at large.
The club focuses on four key areas:
In concurrence with our mission stated above we encourage our members to protect the environment and natural resources so as to foster public respect of those elements of the world we all share.
The club features a 25 yard pistol range, 100 yard rifle range, a trap range and a 5 position sporting clays range. Range safety officers are present during scheduled range sessions. All ranges are open to BISC members and the public. Please refer to the Shooting Sports page for details, the Gallery for photos and the Calendar and News tabs above for range availability schedule.
The club offers a variety of firearms educational services. NRA courses are taught by NRA certified trainers. Washington State sanctioned courses, such as Basic Hunter Education , are taught by State certified trainers. The courses provided address firearm safety, basic shooting instruction for pistols, rifles and shotguns, basic hunting, cartridge reloading and instructions on surviving criminal attack whether it is in the home or while traveling.
There are numerous members of the club who are active fly fisherpersons. These members are dedicated to the sport and can provide you with insite on fishing technigues and lessons in fly tying.
The Wildlife Shelter Raptors event on September 25th was a great success. We had nearly 150 people in attendance. On a near perfect day young and old were fascinated by the birds and informative talks.

The club consists of a number of highly active members who are continually striving to improve the club for all its members, insure that they are good neighbors to the community at large, encourage family activities and provide the community with services unavailable in other venues. To these ends the club is continually striving to improve the infrastructure in keeping with the overall charm of its facilities. With safety as a core guiding principal, enhancements are made to the club that both preserve its link with the past and look to modern technology and ways to continually reinvent itself in further service to its goals and commitment to the community.
As such the club regularly initiates Projects for improvements and seeks to find Grants that assist the dedicated club members to improve the safety and recreational opportunities.
