Welcome to Barleycove Surf Camp
Join our energetic, enthusiastic and fully trained staff, for surf lessons and kids surf camps. during the summer months, from June until September. Education is vital in life, and it is no different in surfing. Start your "Surfing Life" the right way, and in the right location. Barley Cove is a clean, blue flag, lifeguarded beach, providing the perfect environment to make new friends while learning a fresh and exciting activity in beautiful surroundings.

*(We are fully insured and ALL SURF GEAR IS PROVIDED. However togs, a towel, warm clothes and sunscreen are highly recomended)*
mon - fri x 2hr lessons - 100 euro
1 Day - 30 euros, 2 Days - 55 euros, 3 Days - 75 euros, 4 Days - 90 euros 5 Days - 100 euros
NOTE: - Kids must be 7yrs of age upwards, and be able to swim 50m in a pool.
- Private lessons may be arranged for younger kids with parent supervision.
- If conditions appear unsafe for surfing other beach based activities will be arranged.
2 hr lessons for adults - 35 euro and Kids - 30 euro
2 hr private lesson(between 1 - 3 people)- 120 euro
Board and wetsuit 2hrs - 20 euro - Board x 2hr - 15 euro
Board and wetsuit 1hr - 15 euro - Suit x 2hr - 10 euro
Sea Kyack and wetsuit x 2hr - 25 euro , (without wetsuit 20 euro)
Full day sea kyack and wetsit hire - 40 euro, ( without wetsuit 35 euro)
NOTE: At least one lesson must be completed before equipment can be rented.
A complete ‘sport’aholic. I was introduced to skateboarding at five years of age and swam competitively as a kid. Being a second generation surfer the sport held a certain mystique and I was adamant that one day I would give it a go. Playing competitive rugby in school and college meant that my surfing life did not begin until my 20's. Australia provided an opportunity to become completely immersed in the lifestyle. Since then my life has revolved around surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding, and has taken me to France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Austria, America, Morocco, New Zealand, Fiji, South America and Indonesia regularly. The purpose of these trips was to find the perfect wave and snow conditions and to travel and experience new cultures. Some of my happiest most awe inspiring and fulfilling moments in life have being provided by board sports. As with my position as Manager of Tubes Surf Shop in Limerick, my main aim with the surf camp is to pass on everything I can to people who want to pursue a similar path… Look forward to seeing ye on the beach. Clem has been surfing for almost ten years, he has travelled to several countries in Europe including France, Spain and Portugal. Clem has spent a summer instructing in South Africa, and a summer instructing with John McCarthy (former Irish Surf Champion) in Clare last summer. A former competitive swimmer who loves all sports from snowboarding to rugby, but all of which come second to surfing. Clem enjoys travelling around the Irish coastline in search of different waves and enjoying what nature has given us. Clem loves teaching kids the sport that has given him so much.

Located at Barley Cove beach in West Cork, it is one of the most beautiful beach's in Ireland. A clean, Blue Flag, lifeguarded beach, in between Mizen head(the most southwesterly tip of ireland), and Crookhaven, Barley Cove is a must see destination for all visitors. It is located only 2hrs west of Cork city but feels worlds apart. It is 20 mins from another popular sea side town, Schull.
We will be located in the carpark at the main Barley Cove beach entrance. As the surf will not always be perfect on the main beach we may be using one of the beaches nearby, so please take note of our contact telephone number in the "Contact Us" link above, and call for further information.
