THE JOURNEY
Founded in 1991 by a group of friends who found they had a common interest in basketball. The group started off in the Wiltshire League from 1991-95. 1995-97 Cavaliers entered the Gloucester League, then moved over to the Oxford League for 1997-98. Wiltshire basketball 1998-99 followed by a final trip to Oxford for 2000-01. From season 2001 Cavaliers have been members of the very well organised WEBBA League.

CLUB EXPANSION
Due to the demand for competitive basketball in Swindon and following the withdrawal of the Swindon Sonics mens team from the National League, the second Cavaliers team was formed.
CAVALIERS 2 (Formed 2008-2009)
They started in the WEBBA 3rd Division under the guidance of longstanding club member Steve Noad. The newly formed team went on to win the division and gain promotion to the 2nd Division for the season 2009-2010, with experienced player Kev Pryor now taking on the coaching role. Kev gained promotion to the 1st Division during this season and during Season 2010-2011 Cavaliers 2 maintained their Div 1 status, with Chris Kelly being voted as Div 1 MVP..
2011-2012 season sees Cavs 2 player Colin Dillon step up to fill the coach position.. Good Luck Colin..
CAVALIERS 3 (Founded 2009-2010)
Hot on the heels of the second teams success, the 3rd team were formed, again the number of players attending training had increased and the hunger was there to expand the club.
Experienced player and coach Andy Matthews formed a team who managed to compete well and finished in 3rd position. Unfortunately Cavs 3 struggled to retain players for season 2010-2011, but still completed all fixtures, finishing in 7th place.
2011-2012 season sees regular Cavs 3 player Adrian Smith take on his first coaching job.. Good luck Adrian..
SWINDON SHOCK MEN (Founded 2009-2010)
Generally a youth team who have been playing in local competitions for the past 12 months, and as part of the Street Games initiative to increase participation, approached the club committee with a view to being under the Cavaliers umbrella.
Coached by Cavs 1 player Dave Colclough, the team have needed to adapt to the WEBBA set up, but are finding their feet. The Shock team are also in the 3rd Division, finishing their first season with 14 straight wins, and in 2nd place.. well done Shock. Season 2010-2011 saw Shock destroy teams on their way to an undefeated regualr season.. sealing promotion to Division 2 for season 2011-2012.
SWINDON SHOCK WOMEN (Founded 2010-2011)
Another Shock team, the first womens team to play under the Cavaliers umbrella, with many players expressing an interest Coach Colclough entered the WEBBA Womens League. Completing all fixtures, it was a year to learn from. 2011-2012 will see a stronger, more experienced team.
SHOCK MENS II (Founded 2011-2012)
With the Shock Men gaining promotion, Shock II are a youth team who will enter WEBBA Div 3 for their first season. Coach Colclough certainly improving basketball opportunities in the Swindon area..
