Dr. Kerner is on staff at the Wound Care Center at South Nassau Communities Hospital.As Dr. Kerner has been participatiing in endurance athletics since 1984, he provides special attention to athletes.Laser therapy is available for fungal nail infections.Digital X-rays, Diagnostic Ultrasound and Doppler Studies (for circulatory disorders) are available.Physical Therapy is available for athletic injuries, arthtitis, heel pain, etc.
Podiatrists are responible for medical and surgical management of foot and ankle ailments. This includes general, or palliative care, pediatric and geriatric foot disorders, management of medical ailments such as gout and arthtitis, amputation prevention for diabetics and those with impaired circulation, treatment of athletic injuries, and surgical correction of foot deformities such as bunions and hammer toes.
