The HipHop2020 Curriculum Project is a research, teaching, and outreach curriculum that triangulates hip-hop scholarship, popular media, and new technologies in order to develop the next generation of authentic leaders and scholars. Through active teaching, service learning, and socially-responsible social marketing, the purpose of HIPHOP2020 is to promote nonviolent social change and global leadership in a more contemporary way. The primary aim is to bring clarity (20/20) to the constructive elements of hip-hop, popular culture, and social media that foster active teaching and learning, and bring strength in character and intellect to emerging leaders and change agents ages 14 to 21. We seek to create a capacity for change at the local community level, thereby growing our capacity to influence change at the national and global level.
