Amir Farshad Ebrahimi was born in 1975 in Iran ( Golhak north of the Tehran) and studied Directing Cinema at the Art Academy in Tehran-Iran . After studying In 1997 continued his education for accomplishing his master in School of Politics & Jurisprudence in International Law in Tehran University.
In 2003 till 2005 he has done his Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Middle East University (Metu) in Ankara (Turkey) in human Rights .
He still commutes between the worlds of America and Europe.
Ebrahimi mainly works freelance photojournalist for Agency France-Presse(AFP) , Reuters News Agancy (Thomson Reuters) and Croatian News Agency(HINA) since 2003.

Follow up to his passion in film industry and being as a journalist he has accomplish several positions in both arrear, which sometimes have been related closely. In all these years he was the Editor-in- Chief & Author for a variety of daily papers in Tehran such as;

In 04 May 1989 - 13 Feb 1993 he was an Editor-in-Chief of “Soureh Nojavanan” (weekly paper in Tehran). In this position he was responsible for the coordination of the topics, articles, and the reporters.
In 12 Jun 1989 - 04 Dec 1994 he became as an Editorial Staff Member of “Soureh” (monthly magazine).
In 04 Dec 1998 - 05 Jun 1999, he was an “Editor-in-Chief,” Mehran (daily paper in Tehran)”. Typical editor-in-chief position and responsibilities. He was the responsible manager for this daily paper. He has the duty of overseeing the entire functioning of the paper. 26 journalists were working within the Mehran paper group. At the time he was 26 years old and felt that his work was a struggle against censorship in Iran, so the whole job became as a huge challenge against censorship, which was in top of all media in Iran. As a result they were just able to publish 46 issues of the paper before they were shut down and banned by the authorities. In a same period of time he was the editor-in-chief of the daily paper named Bahar until it was also banned by the authorities for the same rason.
I have been working as a freelancer photojournalist for Agencies such as: France-Presse (AFP) , Reuters News Agancy (Thomson Reuters) and Croatian News Agency (HINA) since 2003.
My favorites are nature and culture and people, war, politics and human rights.
I also do modeling and fashion photography sometimes for producing clothes and shoes companies!
I hope I can return to my homland country Iran!
In 02 Jan 1991 - 11 Nov 1999 he was the Movie director for the “Ravayate Fath” (film group for national Iranian TV). As a member of the filming group, he has directed more than 100 documentary television films for Iran's national broadcaster.
From May 1991 until October 1995 he worked as a director of documentary films for the first broadcaster of national television in Iran. His team was usually made up of about 10 cameramen, assistants, sound engineers, etc.
In 1997 Ajans-E Shisheh-I (released as "The Glass Agency" in America) , Borj-E Minoo (1996) (released as "Minoo Watch Tower") , Booy-E Pirahan-E Yusef (1995) (released as "The Scent of Joseph's Coat") , Khakestar-E Sabz (1994) (released as "The Green Ashes") , Az Karkheh ta Rhein (1993) (released as "From Karkheh to Rhine") was on the directed by Ebrahim Hatamikia. He worked as the assistant director.
In brief, he believes that his vast experience as an author, editor and editor-in-chief of many newspapers and periodicals in the past 15 years, together with both his studies as a film director and his experience in making documentaries for television all provide him the supportive knowledge for his current jobs in his life outside of Iran.
