Safety Management

Secondary Support

RGN Mining Services has developed the business to provide a professional and effective response to the requirements of vaious mine sites throughout New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia. Our major clients include Centennial Coal, Peabody Energy, BHP Billiton and Xstrata Coal.The operation includes the supply of labour and equipment for the installation of secondary roof support, standing support, cavity filling and stoppings. Qualified fitters are appointed on-site to conduct routine preventitive maintenance and repairs. Our off-site workshop is equipped to overhaul equipment and machinery.
Secondary roof support is installed by our competent operators using a fleet of Electric Single & Twin Boom Rigs, Air Powered Hydraulic Drill Rigs and Hand Held Roofbolters. RGN Mining Services also has a fleet of diesel transport vehicles including PJB Minecruisers and Domino P.E.T.s.Cavity Filling is completed using our range of cement placer pumps. Emergency deployment can be delivered to suit the clients requirements.
Health & Safety is paramount to our operation. We focus on preventing injuries to all stakeholders.The workforce is actively encouraged to partake in improvement ideas and innovations to improve the safe working environment. A 'No Blame' policy is fostered within the realms of safety to find the route cause of incidents, ensuring mistakes are not repeated.We work closely with clients and employees to develop and continually improve safety systems. RGN has implemented appropriate management systems for continual improvement in our safety, health and environmental performance and requires these aspects be managed to the highest degree. Accordingly, we have adopted a structured and systematic approach to the management of safety, health and environment and to specifically meet the needs of both our operation and the operation of our host mine sites.

With over 25 years mining experience in secondary support the General Manager, Mr Ron Nielsen, has developed this business to provide a professional and effective response to the requirements of the regional operations throughout Australia. Carl Day is the Operations Manager. Carl has a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) from the University of New South Wales. Carl’s role is to liaise with minesite representatives and RGN employees, ensuring the client’s needs are met and that the necessary resources are deployed to carry out the works. Mark Warren is the Health Safety & Training Manager. Mark has over 35 years industry experience. Among Mark’s qualifications are Graduate Diploma of Applied Science with major studies in Occupational Health & Safety, Diploma of Training & Assessment Systems, Certificate of Competency as a Mine Deputy and 30 years of Mines Rescue Service.
